@JennMGreenberg@tandjmcdonald@RealKeriSmith The man did help her sit. Logistically that was ideal. How could he do that with food in his hands while she’s still wearing the baby? I don’t know how he could’ve juggled food & the baby carrier transfer in that situation. Read her response.
@JennMGreenberg@tandjmcdonald@RealKeriSmith You made a post on it. I like you. Digging in your heals on this one is not a good look… read the woman’s response instead of all the time replying & defending your snap judgment.
@ALesserPaul@JennMGreenberg@NeilShenvi In context with the contrast with Adam, it most likely is a negative desire in mine. However the word itself seems to be neutral. It’s to object or focus of the desire is what makes it sinful or not. I think it could go either way in G3:16 and maybe intentionally so.
@Simply_Shula@JennMGreenberg It’s 3 times, the other is sins ‘desire’ for Cain. I sure hope that isn’t sexual. I think desire is probably good English option as it can be sexual but not necessarily.
@ryancduff Why don’t we ever see triangles with spouses at different distances from God? Obviously both on the trajectory is ideal. However, a glaring omission in the instances where one is at the bottom & another closer to top also leaves a huge distance.
@LivingEncompass It means its next meal is not one of your chickens! I had a hawk dive in front of me diving down the road & saw it got a snake in my rear view mirror.
@Cole4Freedom@shesbookish3@KaeleyT Is the second half of the phrase ‘with a brick’ part of the common (in what circles?) phrase which you had to ChatGPT?
@LoloLong66@KaeleyT I lean to the ambiguity being intentional bc it addresses both sides I see in reality. God knew & sees it. Gives new meaning to hope in Him & realization that both errors are from sin. Ideal will not be realized in this life, but striven for. It’s an odd comfort.
@LoloLong66@KaeleyT It’s been a while but I did listen to that. I don’t recall them speaking to the good/bad of desire. Bible project classroom briefly addressed passage opening these passages in new ways that really make me feel seen by God. He took desire in context as bad though.
@LoloLong66@KaeleyT Totally missing my intent. Considering the person who “liked” my comment you’re not alone in reading assumptions into my comment. Given this is after the fall. It’s descriptive of the effects. Often used to accuse women of universal sin. I don’t think it’s meant to do that.
@KaeleyT I lean to think that it isn’t limited in this passage & is meant to be open to either possibility. Desire could be good or bad. Either way, result is now men rule over either way. Seems to describe observations.
@KaeleyT Do you think the “desire” in Genesis 3:16 speaks to this? The desire is a good one but the man will rule over? Root word used 3x. Here, sins desire for Cain, & the man in Song of Songs for his beloved.
