Ten years late without Starbucks, here I am quoted in the NYT with my thoughts about Hamilton: https://t.co/xryMZ5nPza (And also there's some other stuff about statues and historical memory)
@manthonycrowder I didn't really have a concept in mind for the cover and the design folks at @CornellPress did such a great job! The coloring is from the original daguerrotype and the woman pictured and what she's wearing are the subject of the last chapter, the photo sums up the book so well
My book is on sale! Cornell Press is having a flash sale today only, $20 for any hardcover including mine. Code 09ALHCB8 at checkout https://t.co/hcBSWmJBlG
Since no one asked and the Schuyler statue is now down, here's my short thread of other 18th/19th c Albany notables who might be good alternatives for a statue on the spot @jessemckinley
I'm surprised but pleased that the Schuyler statue is coming down--never thought that wd even be on the table. Besides being one of Albany's major slaveowners, Schuyler was also one of the architects of the 1779 Sullivan Campaign against the Six Nations.

This was one of the harder things to write I've done, but it's very satisfying to see it almost done and it was great to work with two great scholars on a project.
The textbook I co-authored with Melissa Blair and @drvholden has a cover! https://t.co/TpzvXzenEo We worked hard to include diverse stories and recent scholarship in a trans-inclusive history of women and gender from the peopling of the Americas through the recent Dobbs decision.
@JamesPAmbuske @CornellPress@jeanettepjones1 @kig7w @SpencerWMcBride It was such a pleasure and I'm very much looking forward to hearing everyone's contributions to what will be a great podcast!
