This is absolutely insane

American went to buy Walgreens brand blood glucose test strips. She takes the box up to the register to buy it

The price should be $30 but it rings up as $75. The issue turned out to be that the people stocking the shelves put the ones that were supposed to be behind the pharmacy counter on the regular shelves

But they are the exact same test strips, same box, same amount of strips, just a different barcode but everything else is the same

The box behind the pharmacy counter sells for $75 for people with insurance. The one on the same is $30

So if you have insurance and pay at the pharmacy the price is $45 more

What are we even doing anymore… our healthcare system is such an absolute scam

If you are an organ donor in California and you removed yourself at the DMV to get rid of your pink dot on your license, you are not really removed

🚨 This woman’s friend tired to remove herself. An accident happened, she was clinically declared brain dead and because she wasn’t fully removed from the system the hospital took all her organs and her bones

The family tired to fight it, even showing her current ID that the pink dot had been removed, but because she didn’t take the extra step to remove her as a donor in the secondary system she was still listed as an organ donor

Because of this, the family couldn’t fight it and was their daughter was harvested against their will

“Because she did not take that extra step, legally, her family couldn't do anything. And they tried their best to get the hospital to remove her even going as far as getting her current ID and her current ID does not have a pink dot on it, but it wasn't enough.
She got her organs removed and her bones. It's very uncomfortable seeing someone, not how they were, especially after being a donating individual”

The website people need to go to that will fully remove them from the donation registry is website donatelifecalifornia. org

There have been a lot of people who have come forward about the organ donor program, much of it is not what you want to hear….

Each child was placed in MRI machines and allowed to scroll and watch screens, and just let the brain stuff do the brain stuff. And the results even shocked the researchers

Kids with 7 or more hours of daily screen time showed premature thinning of the cortex. That's the brain's outer layer that runs the thinking, the memory, the language, including the putamen, which is the reward center, and the prefrontal cortex, which handles impulse control”

Analyses using larger samples linked higher screen time to:

- Smaller overall cortical volume and thinner cortex in regions tied to attention, working memory, language and executive function including prefrontal areas involved in impulse control
- Reduced volume in the putamen, which is the part of the striatum reward system, with evidence that links screen time and cognitive scores. Things like executive function, processing speed and language
- Associations with slightly higher ADHD-like symptoms over time in studies
