As of now, here are the FACTS:

Wilber Perez, the Venezuelan who was shot, is an illegal that was released by the Biden admin.

He has a final order of removal from a judge.

Radical Democrats have encouraged illegal aliens to evade arrest, so of course he tried to flee, leading to a dangerous car chase moments before the shooting incident.

He's receiving medical care paid for by American taxpayers and has been discharged from the hospital.

Rioters are throwing rocks, bottles, concrete blocks, and defacing property. Some have called to assassinate President Trump.

The Democrat Socialists of America are helping fund and organize the riots.

Democrats refuse to condemn the violence of these rioters, or the illegal who endangered law enforcement by speeding off in a car. But, of course, they're happy to call ICE the Gestapo.

The outrage is misdirected. It should be pointed at the rioters, the illegal, the DSA, and the Biden administration who let foreign criminals invade America - not at law enforcement doing the hard work of cleaning up their mess.

Illinois says it cannot do anything about “preventable crime.”

And it calls Katie’s death a “simple DUI.”

That take is disgusting, fraudulent, dishonest, deceitful and, frankly, evil.

It is dishonesty by omission.

A DUI describes the final act. It conveniently omits the chain of failures that came before it:

1. Illinois sanctuary policies restricted cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.

2. A previously deported illegal immigrant using false identities and aliases was allowed to remain in our communities despite federal authorities knowing he was a Guatemalan national, not the Mexican identity he was using.
Illinois fail: 0-1.

3. He obtained an Illinois driver's license under that identity, despite later testifying in open court through an interpreter that he was illiterate in all languages.
Illinois fail: 0-2.

4. He financed and registered his vehicle in Illinois.
Illinois fail: 0-3, 0-4.

5. He entered a fraudulent third-party auto insurance arrangement that resulted in a major insurer walking away from claims over the fraud.
Illinois fail: 0-5.

6. He had already encountered Urbana police for driving without a license or insurance, failed to appear in court, and apparently faced no meaningful follow-up.
Illinois fail: 0-6.

7. He had HIV and was reportedly only tested and treated after incarceration.
Illinois fail: 0-7.

8. He had no job, no schooling, no apparent prospects and no meaningful accountability within the systems supposedly designed to keep track of people operating on our roads.
Illinois fail: 0-8.

I could go on. There is more.

But this alone tells the story.

Every link in the chain was broken.

And Illinois wants to point to the final link and call Katie’s death a “simple DUI.”

No.

If none of these risks were foreseeable, then that is incompetence.

If they were foreseeable and ignored because political, ideological or partisan priorities took precedence over public safety, that is willful blindness.

Neither is good enough.

People entrusted with leading a state have a responsibility to protect the public, identify foreseeable risks and fix broken systems.

When they fail that responsibility this catastrophically, they should not hide behind the final act and pretend the rest of the chain does not exist.

They should answer for it.

And if they cannot, they should resign in shame.

Because Katie did not get to resign.
Katie got a grave.

And the continued effort to reduce her death to a “simple DUI” is not accountability.

It is the continued re-victimization of my daughter and our family.

The paper called Rogers clearly the best choice and said El-Sayed worked so hard covering his tracks that it’s impossible to know who he really is or where he would stand in the Senate. Meanwhile Senate Democrats huddled with him in Washington after he spent the primary saying Chuck Schumer should not lead and should consider him dangerous. Schumer came out smiling, called the meeting great, and said he is “all in” and “absolutely, 100%” worth the money.

Kamala Harris is campaigning with him next week. He is ditching campus tours with Hasan Piker after Piker said America is worse than Al Qaeda “pound for pound.” Former DSA member Jake Altman called it what it is: Democrats bending into pretzels for a liability so extreme that prominent Michigan Democrats still will not endorse him.

Michigan does not need a mystery candidate with radical baggage. Rogers is the clear choice. 🇺🇸
