I remember in my 30s, I had this feeling that ppl saw me as less than fully adult bc I wasn't married & had no kids, but I also thought, Hey, that's kind of self-centered, I'm probably being paranoid... & then I married & had kids & realized I was 100% CORRECT— instant cred
The Fourth of July is about celebrating the big, bold, inclusive experiment that is our American democracy. And it has always been an experiment. Our democracy has never been guaranteed, which means we can’t take it for granted. We need to keep fighting for it, keep improving it, and keep making sure it reflects the better angels of our nature instead of the worst. That, more than anything, is what America is all about.
@AlisonSomin@clhubes Love my designated Saturday night trick or treats in NE MA. Everyone always has a party or backyard fire to go to, kids trade candy. No parents rushing out of work, or school the next day. Saturday night before 10/31 T or T is superior!
@clhubes Lucy - our swim club closed for the season on Monday & I cried leaving bc I realized its the only time I talk w/ other parents of young children! Working FT, this provided me with that community & now I’ll lose it til next summer since there’s never parent/tot stuff on weekend
@BostonJerry Hope all is ok! We just got bill from my then 8 mo old sons bout w/Kawasaki Disease in Jan 22. 4 days at in network MGH & a year later we find out we owe $18k. Insurance won’t cover our semi-private room. Like we had a choice! It’s so depressing.
