Access to healthcare remains a challenge in Miwani, Muhoroni Constituency, as community members are largely unaware of the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF). Even those who are registered face difficulties with inconsistent subscription payments, and only a few have benefited from the fund.
Poor infrastructure, particularly the dilapidated road network, further exacerbates the situation, hindering the transport of patients to health facilities and slowing economic growth.
The Miwani Social Justice Centre continues to advocate for improved access to healthcare and better infrastructure, calling on the government to prioritize these urgent issues.
With HAKI Africa’s support, the community is empowered to demand better healthcare access, infrastructure improvements, and accountability from local authorities, ensuring their right to quality healthcare is recognized and addressed.
