The divisiveness on here is directly akin to the divisiveness we witness in the US on a daily basis and I am fucking over it.
One of the many reasons I want out of the US in the mid to long-term. I know everywhere has it's problems but not many as astronomical as it has become here.
In the short term I can at least get out of this fucking cesspool that social media has become; it's an utter disease on mental health and the only control I have over it is my own access.
I am not someone that is mentally and emotionally equipped to be a social warrior or even be someone that can cope with it well on a regular basis.
I will miss the accessibility to tech knowledge but in general it is not worth the toll it takes. It gives me a negative perspective of humanity on a daily basis that I don't like feeling.
If we are good friends on here try and find me on Discord (Justin Bauerπ#2275). Uninstalling, logging out, deleting my password in BitWarden and removing the key from my 2FA app.

I paid but I'm mostly interested to see what the extended reach is like? Will only keep it if I find value in it, but I have enjoyed being able to post longer tweets/responses instead of replacing words with partial words and symbols. Will report back my thoughts in a couple weeks.
@JoypadLadShop I find it useful with TypeScript. Specifically with helping me add types to complicated structures. Small bits of logic here and there, nothing too complex.

@JoypadLadShop Version 3 and 3.5 were notified bad with words problems and math. 4 is better but not perfect. So many valid uses though, and I use it for helping out with random code problems daily.
How easily one is pulled into recurrent thoughts in ways that take us away from life progressing actions, is one of the key metrics of mental health⦠and not surprisingly, is correlated with productivity, or lack thereof. Re-directing focus is a skill worth investing in.
@BenLesh Oof that's wild. Sounds like less of a CC # and more the account fingerprint is tied to something. I've seen this in the past and people have had to completely close and reopen accounts to resolve. Hope you get some answers soon.
It's so important, especially for remote workers. Our brains aren't at 100% 24/7 and the types of problems we solve in development can be pretty complicated sometimes.
Often if you're stuck it's better to step away for a bit instead of continuing to bash our heads against the keyboard and brute force a solution. A bunch of mistakes and failures in a short period of time can be incredibly demoralizing and demotivating.
A mental reset helps, as well as setting clear boundaries with employers. At the end of the day we do better work and feel more fulfilled in multiple facets of life.
When we feel good outside of work, it's a lot easier to feel good during work. Good employers recognize and support this on a regular basis.
