@CarlBrandt1495@SaintTrill_@bomani_jones This is a shining example of the education problem in the US. Poor guy has been walking around his whole life saying dumb shit like this and will leave this earth equally as uneducated.
Sweeney is highly regarded for his coaching acumen and defensive schemes. I say this because it's 110% certain he knows we have offensive issues and he will build the right staff to address this.
I'll take Sweeney all day long over Billy D. This is a much better move. In fact, I hope the Magic manufactured interest in him just for revenge for 2007, but I'd be giving the FO a bit too much credit.
Don't underestimate playoff experience. By that I mean WINNING experience, not just showing up to round 1. Still think Spurs/OKC is the real NBA Final.
@PaolosAttorney At 6, yes. At 11, hell no. I said that the night of the draft and people whined like crazy, even tho it was glaringly obvious. I personally wanted George or Lively. Horrible, horrible pick by Weltman. He should be held more accountable for it.
I think ppl assuming ORL would have beaten CLE and marched into the ECF is why this fanbase doesn't get taken seriously. Plus, who cares about making the ECF anyway. The goal should be to build a team that can defeat OKC and SA, and that currently is not close to happening.
@jramseymmo @OMagicGuru@BillSimmons@kirkgoldsberry It's not a horrific trade at all, although trading Franz and Suggs will feel like giving away too much to a lot of the local fanbase who doesn't understand how impactful Murray is. The problem is that it dramatically weakens Orlando's defense.
@Rayshard07@JustDave243 He's an absolute stud. People saying no are the typical casual fans who don't watch him play and have no idea WTF they are talking about. Murray and Bane as a backcourt would be a ridiculous combo. He also can handle the rock, which saves a lot of Paolo and Franz's energy..
The next coach for the Magic will have to scheme around 2 big wings who can't playmake or shoot, an undersized C and no starting caliber PG on the roster. It's not that appealing of a job to anyone who wants to win championships.
@KaiBOBOtto@DavidRoss674682@benross3 If you get out of your feelings and rewatch the game, you will easily see that Paolo faded in the second half and Cade did not. That is the difference. The magic still would have lost because they have a poorly built team, but Paolo is not as consistent as Cade is.
@KaiBOBOtto@DavidRoss674682@benross3 Cade made a huge difference once Franz was gone and he did in the second half of the most key games. Paolo wilted in both games 6 and 7. Thats the intangible difference between these players that you aren't seeing.
@KaiBOBOtto@DavidRoss674682@benross3 I dont see it. Cades always averaged at least 5 assists per game and has a cleaner shot. Franz is a solid defender and gave him trouble, but Paolo and the rest of the roster could not.
@ChrisDiehl44@benross3 Keep in mind he took way less FG attempts and 3s this year. Some of this is due to missing games, but 34% on 139 attempts is not stellar.
@benross3 It goes both ways. It's very tough to scheme around 2 big wings who can't shoot well, want the ball in their hands and aren't giving you 9-10 assists per game.
@KaiBOBOtto@DavidRoss674682@benross3 Cade is far more consistent. He also scores more and averages almost 10 assists per game. Franz doesnt even get 4, for perspective. It's not as close as you think.
@benross3 Sure but I am talking championship caliber coaches, not you or I. It was attractive to Mike Malone, but Weltman took too long to fire Mosley. Some ppl got in their feelings about this tweet, but the main point is that the team is not well built and needs changes.
