Celebrating Dot Day the only way know how! @LBFitz3 even from afar was leading our celebration and shared her dot of her Penguin-self with penguin-grandchildren in her new chapter! @tjshay @peterhreynolds @DotClubConnect
It's been a weird start to the year, but I had two girls in my Latin A politely (and firmly) requestion to read a story in Latin instead of one in English.
Alrighty, school is Looming and Zooming and I have two mottos for the year. The first I made up while babbling to @LBFitz3: "Cautiously flexible and patiently organized" and the other is from Hannibal:
It was so exciting to go on and chat with my longtime friend, @corinnetthomas, about school reopening. We chatted about the differences, disparities, and commonalities among independent and public schools’ plans. It was honor to join! Also, check out the first two episodes!
The latest episode of Roll CallEd is out now! It features my lovely friend @MagisterSecrest and gets into the complications boarding schools are facing during this pandemic! Check it out!!

@LLHouston advised me on how to structure my curriculum.
@LBFitz3 loaned me books.
@doodleahall recommended artists (including Bearden!)
An old roommate slowed me down and helped me plan my unit on Raisin in the Sun.
I am grateful to be surrounded by mentors and friends!
A colleague turned me onto Romare Bearden’s A Black Odyssey which my class will use to reflect on our work last semester with The Odyssey, prepare for Raisin in the Sun, and celebrate Black History Month in a Latin classroom (that also hosts my English class!).
Summers at Pennington registration and website now are now live! This year there are 50+ different summer camp options, including programs in the arts; sports and wellness; outdoor adventure; and STEM, plus academic and enrichment camps. https://t.co/mCWJ2uinqI
Today's a day where I wonder if there's a correlation with a majority of my students commenting on Penelope's weeping and ignoring her ingenuity with the debate on Elizabeth Warren.
I am so proud of my Latin 1B students. On Tues, they were so excited to be back in Latin and even more excited to share what they did over break. Today I have zero voice from a weird chest cold. So, they are just getting right to work and even whispering back at me.
