Wondering about the end of the world. Prevent it by joining together. Abolish capitalism. Free Palestine and beyond. I mostly repost to amplify others.
There appears to be a lot of misunderstanding in response to my post on Jeremy Corbyn.
Let me try and address the main issues.
These are:
1. What is Zionism?
And
2. How is Jeremy Corbyn a Zionist?
First of all on Zionism. In my Employment Tribunal against the University of Bristol I set out my definition of Zionism (image below). I referred to it as ‘an ideology that asserts that a state for Jewish people ought to be established and maintained in the territory that formerly comprised the British Mandate of Palestine.’
This is a neutral definition. However, I put it in context of my views on ‘racism, imperialism and colonialism as ‘offensive to human dignity’ and which, should therefore ‘be opposed’. I consider that Zionism ‘is inherently racist, imperialist, and colonial. I consider Zionism to be offensive to human dignity on that basis, and I therefore oppose it.’
So, to be a Zionist is to believe that a Jewish state in Palestine should be created or continue to exist.
Which takes us to Jeremy Corbyn. Does he believe that a Jewish State should exist in Palestine?
Here are some quotations with the year in which they were made.
*Mr Corbyn said he remained committed to a “comprehensive peace in the Middle east based on a two-state solution, international law and a secure Israel alongside a secure and viable state of Palestine,” in line with Labour policy. he made clear his position in a letter to party donor Michael Foster, who had heckled Mr Corbyn at a Labour Friends of Israel event at the party conference in September… Responding to a letter from Mr Foster, Mr Corbyn wrote last week: “I was pleased to speak at the LFI event, and to have the opportunity to express how I felt about progressing the peace process in the Middle east, and how Labour can stay involved. “Israel has always been, and will continue to be, recognised by both myself and the Labour Party.” (2015)
*Mr Corbyn said: “I want to thank Labour Friends of Israel for their contribution in building awareness of the different dimensions of the Middle East conflict, and the crucial debate about how to achieve a peaceful long-term settlement.” In conciliatory comments, he also thanked MP Joan Ryan, LFI chair, and Israeli ambassador Mark Regev, who appeared at the event alongside him. Mr Corbyn added: “I’m genuinely glad to be here today to come together to campaign for a two-state solution for both Israelis and Palestinians. I hope that will be achieved.(Speech to Labour Friends of Israel, 2016)
*“We support a two-state solution to the conflict with a secure Israel and a viable and secure Palestinian state. … And in order to help make the two-state settlement a reality, we will recognize a Palestinian state as soon as we take office.” (Speech to Labour Party Conference, Liverpool, 2018)
Putting the definition above with the comments from Corbyn here together, it is perfectly clear that Corbyn is a Zionist.

A person literally calling for 65 million people to be fed to alligators is one of the most inhumane statements in history. World history. The evil of it is beyond chilling.
As a Taiwan-based Chinese, I can testify to the accuracy of Shanghai Panda's observation.
Taiwan's standard of living has stagnated under four decades of FREEDUMB AND DUMBOCRACY.
.
There are UK zionists here in Britain that have taken part in the genocide of 400,000 Palestinians. They have committed war crimes and atrocities for Israel and walk freely among us. Then there are people being locked up and called terrorists for peaceful protest & vandalism. 🙄
A million estimated deaths in 500 days. Half a million children.
The Zionist-NATO war on Palestine is shaping up to be among the most vicious genocides in the history of genocide.
As my heart shatters like dark shards of glass from pain and injustice, I, too, break apart with it—of hunger and loss. Slowly, my European friends begin to withdraw from communicating with me. They retreat, bit by bit, from my wound—a wound that no longer suits their whitewashed lives, nor aligns with their particular standards of pain and suffering.
One of them wishes to gift his lover a new car, and I fear hurting him by saying that death has become my one and only desire.
The war has taken residence in my heart, gnawing at my insides like a rat chewing on a piece of cheese my mother once forgot atop the fridge. The war has devoured me—literally, not metaphorically.
I was once the one who walked the streets of Beit Hanoun with my head held high, proud and joyful, my chest unburdened by any weight… but now, life seems to be nothing more than burdens I carry as fleeting memories—until God takes back His trust.
"Why are China and Russia doing nothing?" is a coherent question only if you fail to see the struggle in West Asia not as a spontaneous conflagration but as part of a systemic confrontation between imperialism and the world's working people.
China is transforming the very structure of the global economy in favour of the South, while propping up Iran by buying over 90% of its oil — at a tremendous cost imposed by US sanctions.
Russia is fighting the entire genocidal NATO bloc in Ukraine, while pivoting its economy towards industrial development and technological sovereignty — no small feat for the world's largest country, which just three decades ago was plundered and privatized into near-oblivion.
It is also worth noting that Iran is committed to a path of defence that rests on the construction of sovereign capacities. That is likely why it has not entered into a mutual defence pact with Russia, which was on the table earlier this year — and why it has not formally sought military support from either Russia or China. And still, without these things, it forced the US and Israel into a ceasefire.
There is a single and expanding imperialist war that is being fought on multiple fronts. Each of these fronts gradually exhausts empire's material capacities; the weapons being diverted from Ukraine to occupation forces in Palestine are just one example. It is no coincidence that NATO is buckling under the compulsion to rearm.
But it is important to remember that the material capacities of empire's adversaries are also limited — and that, therefore, escalation happens along measured, carefully-planned paths that anticipate a long period of confrontation.
Israeli soldiers are now regularly and systematically massacring Palestinians at their "aid" sites. They do it nearly every day and more than 400 people have now been murdered this way. It is sincerely one of the most evil things I have ever seen.
It needs to be emphasized more just how much reformism has almost always come at the behest of a barrel of a gun, so to speak. The bourgeoisie does not make even mild concessions lightly. Look at the history of major reforms. They are almost always a result of revolutionaries.
Is there anyone who cannot see why an Italian restaurant owner would not want this under her roof?
If you don't support this, don't attend anything where an Israeli flag will be raised. And if your government or organization tells you you have to, tell them to go fuck themselves, and walk out.
Western institutions have allowed Israel to do whatever it wants to humanity (which includes you), so it's on the people to make their stance heard.
Life is simpler than advertised. Don't attend. Period.
⚙️ Average working hours dropped drastically after 1917, due to fear that the Russian Revolution would inspire similar revolutions in other countries.
The effect was more pronounced in countries with larger Communist Parties. Capitalism did not reduce working hours on its own.
Tainting the Palestine movement with all his Nazi shit was the obvious trajectory over the last couple years.
It's like this whole thing was cooked up in a lab by the ADL
