@DACDAC4DAC Both aircraft were on designated flight paths. Those paths intersect. Common in busy airspaces. The problem is they were there at same time. Tower guides separation. Heli pilot confirmed he had AA flight in sight, would see and avoid. He failed to. Heli pilot/crew at fault.

I should add that the ORD>SAT @AmericanAir flight left early MINUS 10 passengers. Gate agent said knew our incoming flight was on the ground but @AmericanAir wouldn’t let him wait.

Wow. @AmericanAir just totally screwed me. PVD>ORD AA flight delayed due to maintenance issue. ORD>SAT AA gate agent closes the door early as I arrive at gate in full sprint and then flight departs early. Way to treat your first class executive platinum loyal business passenger.
