for context these are life changing surgeries that consenting adults have worked towards for years with a doctors supervision, being suddenly cancelled out of the blue for hundreds if not thousands of people, just to make some unrelated bigots feel better

The Levy Review found at the end of 2025 that wait times for gender healthcare were unacceptably long in England, by the way.

This is what they do when the wait time is somewhat reasonable. Make no mistake, it’s by design.

@ShatteredSFW The gender service really messed up with their wording here by saying all patients are started on hormones after the first appointment. It is categorically untrue. Not all patients want hormones. My partner has been with the Welsh gender service for years and is not on hormones!

@TolChikSmolDik My partner was supposed to have top surgery yesterday but it was cancelled the day before! We have set up a fundraiser for them to go private now because we have no idea how long it will be until the NHS allows Welsh people to have gender affirming surgery again 😩
