More evidence supporting carvedilol as the beta blocker of choice for secondary EVH prophylaxis. Even better, carvedilol use was also associated with lower risk of further decompensation events in this population.

In AIH patients, MASLD was linked to:
⬇️ 1-yr immunosuppressant use (HR 0.69)
⬆️ 10-yr risk of cirrhosis (HR 1.22)
⬆️ 10-yr risk of HCC (HR 2.03)

👉 Early detection & management of MASLD in patients with AIH is key.

📉 Surgery for non-malignant colorectal polyps is modestly declining (2014–2024) as EMR & ESD increase, yet avoidable surgeries persist—underscoring the need for better polyp characterization, broader access to expert endoscopists, and standardized quality metrics.
