just numb hearing about the passing of the fjmu girl who attempted suicide. the med schools teach you how to save lives, but not how to save your own. imagine coming this far, surviving years, just to lose yourself at the end. Still can’t process it. Prayers for her & family

⚠️ Trigger Warning ⚠️
A medical student from Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore has reportedly died by suicide after jumping from the third floor of the college building. A young future physician, gone.
Every time this happens, many of us speak. We write. We raise alarms. We offer data driven solutions. Yet despite repeated tragedies, meaningful structural change remains painfully absent.
We are facing a real and escalating student mental health crisis, especially in medical colleges where academic pressure, stigma, humiliation culture, and lack of confidential support systems create a perfect storm.
What is even more heartbreaking is the pattern of misplaced priorities. After recent suicide attempts, including one death at The University of Lahore, the response was reportedly limited to awareness talks and inviting a motivational influencer (Qasim Ali Shah) . This is not a substitute for systemic mental health reform.
This crisis requires:
• Confidential and independent counseling services
• Active screening and early identification
• Faculty training in recognizing distress
• Zero tolerance for bullying and public shaming
• Real investment in psychiatric and psychological services
We recently had renowned psychiatrists from the USA and Pakistan discuss the rising suicide rates and evidence based strategies to address them. The solutions exist. The expertise exists. What is missing is implementation.

To every student reading this: your grades are not your worth. Your struggle is not weakness. Your pain deserves professional help, not silence.
If you or someone you love is not feeling well, please reach out. Speak to a trusted person. Seek professional care. Asking for help is strength, not failure.
#MentalHealthAwareness
I wanna marry into a family that feels like a family. Sunday dinners, birthdays, holidays, random movie nights. I don’t want it to just be “us,” I want a whole village that feels like home
I saw a quote that said.. "You could literally be fighting for your life, and some people will only notice how you're not showing up for them." Let that sink in.
no one talks about the personality shift as you get older. where you no longer want to be impressive, you want to be rested. you want to be regulated and completely unavailable to anything that drains you
Eldest daughter reminder: Not every situation requires your involvement. It’s okay to step back from problems that aren’t yours to solve. Protect your peace and allow others to handle their own responsibilities — you are not obligated to fix everything.
when you get mature and successful in life you stop giving explanations to people who dont matter, you stop seeking validations and you stop caring what someone thinks about you; you realise that youre doing better in life and thats what matters.
