What has Iran really done that is so unforgivable?

Did it invade continents?

Colonize half the earth?

Drop atomic bombs on civilians?

Build military bases around the globe?

Topple governments by the dozen?

Starve nations with sanctions and call it diplomacy?

No.

Its unforgivable act was simpler.

It refused to become manageable.

And for some rulers in the Muslim world, that refusal is more offensive than any Western crime, because it threatens the very terms of their own survival.

People are upset about the World Cup because instead of bringing the world together it’s another reminder of how unjust the world is.

It’s not a conspiracy. A Somali referee was denied entry to the U.S., that’s a fact. The U.S. tried to swap Iran for Italy, and then mistreated the team, that’s a fact. The U.S. president made a call to reverse a red card for an American player, that’s a fact…

From discrimination and over-priced tickets, to commercial breaks and VAR issues, many people who have watched and enjoyed the World Cup since childhood are more than disappointed. The whole tournament was tainted from the beginning, starting with a fake peace prize to gratify the host country.

A few observations about the funeral of Ayatollah Khamenei in Iran today.

I think the millions on the streets should once and for all dispel doubts about the scale of support for the Islamic Republic.

Anyone who knows Iran is well aware that the administration has solid support on the ground.

Yes it has many detractors and there are also many traitors who helped Israel and the US launch their attacks (although many of them are now dead or in prison).

But the huge amount of support it has, as well as many others who are disgusted by the traitors inside Iran, mean that the Islamic Republic of Iran will endure.

Basically, the world was sold a lie by the Israelis, the Zionists and the neocons. Iran was not weak, it faced down its enemies and it has emerged stronger.
