Here's a breakdown of Vice President Sara Duterte's office's recent equipment acquisitions for 2023–2024, including CCTV units, vehicles, computer equipment and other assets, according to the Commission of Audit's latest report for the OVP.
COA’s audit report shows the OVP acquired 13 units of “laptops” worth P3.92 million in total, or about P300,000 each. But this is incorrect, the OVP told https://t.co/EkOhqnDYIK, which says it had submitted a summary that mistakenly referred to “12 donated photocopiers and a desktop computer” as “13 laptops.”
COA in its report also noted an accounting issue involving the valuation of those donated photocopiers. It did not flag the OVP for its other acquisitions.
Also included in the acquisitions are CCTV units worth about P200,000 each, Macbook Air laptops worth over P120,000 each, among others.

ILOILO: JALAUR MEGA DAM PROJECT
Aside from the mangroves and the Iloilo Esplanade, the Province of Iloilo is leading the way in flood control and farm irrigation measures with the near completion of the Jalaur Mega Dam Project.
Sana all like Iloilo.
Here’s a short history of the project:
✅ Proposed by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and recommended by National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) in 2011
✅ Approved by President Benigno S. Aquino III (PNoy) in 2012
✅ Groundbreaking ceremony conducted in 2013 under PNoy’s administration and attended by Senators Franklin Drilon, Koko Pimentel, Bam Aquino, and Risa Hontiveros
✅💲Funding throug a loan agreement with the Korean government (through KEXIM Bank) was also signed during PNoy’s term
❌ Credit grabbed by Duterte through his Build! Build! Build! promo
⚠️ Inaugurated by BBM in July 2024 and will be fully operational and functional in 2025
⚠️ Flood control measure: “The lower part of the Jalaur River experiences seasonal flooding. When there is heavy downpour, during the months of June to September, the river overflows and floods the surrounding area.

Grabbed these photos from the FB page of our former city mayor, Jerry Treñas.
This is 16-17 years of planting mangroves along the coastal areas and river banks of Iloilo City.
These mangroves now serve as vital protection against floods, erosion, and pollution.
If you’ve been to Iloilo City, you’ve probably seen these lush mangroves along river esplanades, coastal areas, and Sunset Boulevard.
You'll also see crabs and fishes through the mangroves. And, mind you, malinis ang rivers namin.
As an Ilongga, I am proud of the initiatives of our LGU. It's not perfect, but certainly better than other "overhyped" cities na "the best in the country" daw.
May other cities and provinces in the Philippines replicate this initiative. 🌍
This is one of our flood control projects in Iloilo: a life-saving infrastructure that now protects thousands of Ilonggo residents from floods like those caused by Typhoon Frank in 2008.
This was built with the help of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and constructed by Hanjin Heavy Industries of South Korea and China International Water & Electric Corporation.
The project includes widened river channels, better drainage, and new bridges built to withstand typhoons.
It stands today as proof that smart planning and international cooperation can protect lives and secure a city’s future.

It can clearly be seen that construction is still on-going and KINAKALBO pa din ang BUNDOK.
Literally, sabi nga sa kanta, they paved paradise to put up a parking lot!
