This man is a hero.

Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit.

Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.

Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives.

My name is Bharat, and I am currently in the USA, where I have been battling advanced Cancer- Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) for the last 4 years.

My doctors have told me that my condition is very critical and that I may not have much time left. At this stage of my life, I have just one heartfelt wish. I want to come back to my motherland, Andhra Pradesh, and spend the time I have left with my family and loved ones.

I want to see my family, be with them, and return home one last time. This wish is giving me the strength to keep fighting.

🇮🇳 Seven attempts. One dream. One uniform.

Most people give up after a few failures.

Lt. Pritam Singh Bagediya refused to. 💪🫡

Hailing from Jalore, Rajasthan, Pritam had only one dream—to wear the Indian Army uniform and serve the nation.

Over the next 18 months, he underwent rigorous training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, where his exceptional performance earned appreciation from President Droupadi Murmu and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. 🎖️

Recruitment agencies that hire candidates through the Pratibha Setu Portal—particularly those who could not clear the final stage of the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE)—should ideally follow age criteria similar to that of UPSC.

In many recruitment notifications issued through the Pratibha Setu Portal, the upper age limit is often fixed at 30 years for the General category, with 5 years of relaxation for reserved categories.

However, in reality, many aspirants appear for the UPSC CSE interview stage at the age of 31 or 32, and the same situation applies to candidates from reserved categories as well.

Because of this mismatch, several capable candidates who have already reached the UPSC interview stage become ineligible for opportunities offered through the Pratibha Setu Portal due to the restrictive age criteria.

Therefore, recruitment agencies should align their age eligibility criteria with that of UPSC CSE. Doing so will ensure that these deserving candidates can also benefit from the opportunities provided through the Pratibha Setu initiative.
