Very sad news this morning with Susumu Tonegawa’s passing. May he rest in peace. 🙏 This picture is from 10+ years ago when we both spoke at a meeting in Boston. Susumu told me that when he was switching from immunology (his Nobel prize is for BCRs) to neuroscience, he was worried that colleagues may think he was becoming a neuroimmunologist 🤣🤦♂️. He also told me that times are a bit different now (they are even more different 10+ years since).
