Journalist. Mom. Survivor. Senseless with Erika Mahoney premiering June 17 from Lemonada Media. Available wherever you listen to podcasts! IG: @eri_mahoney
It's official -- this is a long time coming. Four years ago, I posted on Twitter the day after my dad was killed in a mass shooting about my heartbreak. Today, I'm posting about the launch of my podcast Senseless with Erika Mahoney about moving forward after the unthinkable.
June is Gun Safety Awareness Month, a time to encourage action and raise awareness about the devastating impact of gun violence.
This June, @MahoneyEb and @lemonadamedia are launching a podcast that explores the aftermath of gun violence. Join Erika on June 17 as she navigates trauma, grief, and forgiveness. Through conversations with other survivors, sessions with a medium, and a grief retreat in the redwoods of Northern California, Erika begins to rebuild her life while also facing a high-profile trial.
Senseless with Erika Mahoney premieres June 17, with the trailer dropping June 3. Listen wherever you get your podcasts.
Boulder Police is currently investigating a report of a man with a gun near Fairview High School. The high school and nearby middle school are on lockdown. Please avoid the area at this time. We have closed the road in front of the school from Greenbriar and Broadway to Greenbriar and Gillespie #boulder #bouldercolorado @BVSDcolorado
The Senseless 🎧 finale is out! I talk with @JoeNeguse , a champion for g*n v*olence reduction, and @alyandaj who survived a m*ss sh*oting. This episode leans into this: tragedy ---> transformation. New listeners: start at EP 1. Link to show in comments. #Senseless#Podcast
Episode 2 of #Senseless is out: The Other Side. After my dad was killed in a mass shooting, I found myself in a position I never imagined — not reporting the news, but becoming it. This podcast episode explores why I ultimately chose to speak out. Listen now.

It was an ordinary Monday. Then the phone rang.
Erika Mahoney’s world shattered when she learned there was an active shooter at a Boulder supermarket. In seconds, ten people were killed, including Erika’s father.
What comes after unimaginable loss? Senseless with @MahoneyEb explores moments of reflection, conversations with survivors, and a journey through grief as Erika begins to rebuild her life while confronting the trial of the shooter.
This is a story about family, love, and the search for healing after senseless violence.

Erika Mahoney's father, Kevin, was one of 10 people killed in a Boulder King Soopers on March 22, 2021. She is using her new podcast, "Senseless," to explore how we move forward after such tragedies. via @ColetteBordelon https://t.co/0VZgCa17Ap
Thank you @ColetteBordelon with @thedenverchannel for capturing my heart 💜. Colette attended the mass shooting trial last September every single day and I have so much respect for her and her thoughtful coverage.

Honored to be part of the “most powerful 2024 conversations” from @KUNC with @ErinOtoole1 and @bradturner1 for their podcast In The NoCo. We did this interview on the last day of the trial after the guilty verdicts came in - a moment to remember.

If you haven’t gotten around to it yet, take a moment to read my story about @MahoneyEb new podcast. Erika, who’s dad was killed the #Boulder King Soopers mass shooting, told me she hopes this podcast will give insight into what happens after tragedy.

@DADoughertyCO @MahoneyEb@nickyandrewss@dailycamera Thanks @MahoneyEb for this podcast launch! I am a suicide prevention counselor, who was blocks from King Soopers that day & got caught behind an endless line of police cars for hours. My daughter's kindergarten at the time was a couple short blocks behind the store.#BoulderStrong
Erika Mahoney’s dad, Kevin, was a murder victim at King Soopers. @MahoneyEb is launching a podcast about the aftermath & moving forward.
Her strength and resilience is remarkable. She is channeling pain into purpose.
