On Monday, two Iranian protesters, Mehrdad Mohammadinia and Ashkan Maleki, were executed after being arrested during the national uprising in January.

As in other politically charged cases, the Islamic Republic is using an alleged “confession” as evidence, confessions often extracted under pressure, intimidation, torture, and without due process. Protesters and political prisoners are routinely denied access to independent lawyers and sentenced in rushed, opaque trials by a judiciary that serves the security apparatus.

Their names must not be forgotten. The world must hold the regime accountable for its daily crimes against the Iranian people.

This is a very polite, respectful way of saying the president is on the verge of a huge mistake. A weak, isolated regime is getting a lifeline instead of real pressure. Why pour billions back into a system that funds the IRGC while Iranians are being killed in the streets
Why no talk of regime change. Why use murdered Iranians as a bargaining chip with the same regime that massacred them. Why back a deal so lopsided it could make Obama’s look tough by comparison @marklevinshow

I’ve been thinking about how everyone is gaming out a “potential” Iran deal. President Trump calls it “largely negotiated” and Don Jr, (shamelessly) is already hyping it as an absolute win, but nowhere in their victory lap are the Iranian people themselves. If the U.S. Navy has Iran blockaded and Tehran has no real air force or navy left, why are we talking about showering this regime with concessions at all? When you hold all the cards and still feel the need to bribe a terror state to act human, it does not look like America is the side that is winning. Meanwhile the IRGC is hanging protesters and political prisoners like Milad Armon, Mohammad‑Mehdi Hosseini, Navid Najaran and Mehdi Imani, young men who were told help was on the way and are instead walking to the gallows. @marklevinshow @LindseyGrahamSC
