Issa Seyed Hashemi ist der Sohn von Massoumeh Ebtekar, einer Politikerin der Islamischen Republik, die während der Geiselnahme in der US Botschaft in Teheran als Sprecherin auftrat.

Alle drei verfügten über eine dauerhafte Aufenthaltsgenehmigung (Green Card). Nach Angaben der Behörden stellte ihre Anwesenheit jedoch eine klare Gefahr für die nationale Sicherheit und die außenpolitischen Interessen der USA dar. Infolgedessen wurden ihre Aufenthaltsgenehmigungen entzogen.

Auffällig – oder eher bezeichnend – ist ein altbekanntes Muster: Seit über vier Jahrzehnten wird „Tod Amerika“ zur Staatsräson erhoben und politisch inszeniert, während dieselben Machteliten ihre Kinder bevorzugt in die USA schicken – zum Studieren, Leben und Karriere machen. Der ideologische Hass endet offenbar dort, wo die eigenen Privilegien beginnen. Diese Doppelmoral ist kein Ausrutscher, sondern wirkt wie ein fest verankerter Bestandteil der politischen Kultur dieses Systems.
