Why do so many people think it's appropriate to reach out to a former employee via their personal contact info to request their login information for company-managed computers?
nobody will remember:
- your salary
- how “busy you were”
- how many hours you worked
people will remember:
- whether you confused correlation for causation
Somehow made it 2+ years without installing ggplot2 for work and no one on my python-centric team understands why I am having a small existential crisis.

I think it's funny when people talk about the placement of a hair part being in or out of style, like thanks for the info but my hair does not involve me in any of its decision making processes.
The older I get, the less I want this.
I don't want to build the future on 2 hours of sleep. I want a full night of rest, time for coffee in the morning, a relaxed but consistent work ethic, and to clock out within 30 minutes on either side of the end of the day
@academic_exit Started as a fairly entry-level analyst to gain that industry experience, stayed for over a year (and a promotion to a senior analyst role), then leveraged that to move upwards into data science roles.
Some days I reflect on my Zoom PhD defense (March 31, 2020) and the "celebration" that followed, a really intense nap, and am brokenhearted that I didn't have the option to walk and be hooded at a graduation. Other days, I have a PhD and that's still pretty cool.
