In the Treta Yuga, during the epic Ramayana, Lord Rama led his Vanara army across the ocean to Lanka to free Sita Mata from the demon king Ravana. The war shook Lanka, a fierce clash of divine and demonic might. As the battle peaked, Rama’s advisors urged him to unleash the Ram Baan, a celestial arrow that could slay Ravana instantly. But Rama hesitated, knowing its divine fire would consume not just Ravana but every Rakshasa in its path. “Is it just to destroy so many for Ravana’s sins?” he questioned.

His advisors, battle-hardened and resolute, pressed on. “Prabhu, these Rakshasas are not only complicit in Ravana’s evil but inherently evil themselves. The Ram Baan alone ensures victory and Sita Mata’s freedom.” Convinced yet reluctant, Rama loosed the arrow. With a deafening roar, it blazed across the sky. The arrow reduced Ravana and his demon army to ashes in a blinding flash.

As Rama, Sita, et al., set out for Ayodhya, a ghostly mist rose from the battlefield. The spirits of the slain Rakshasas appeared, their voices laden with sorrow. “O Rama,” they wailed, “your arrow cut our lives short. What fate awaits us now?”

Sita Mata, her heart brimming with compassion, turned to Rama. “These poor souls deserve a chance,” she pleaded. Moved by her tender plea, Rama faced the wailing spirits with a serene smile. “Fear not, O wretched shades,” he declared, his voice dripping with divine irony, “you shall not languish in the void. I bestow upon you a grand boon: in the Kali Yuga, you shall rise again as Ambedkariyas, Phuliyas, Periyariyas, Dravidiyas, Sanghis, and other such Adharmis— doomed to perfect your vile, adharmic artistry in an age that suits your wretchedness.”
