E-Waste can't just be thrown away like most household trash. So instead people should either use their devices for longer periods of time, repair their devices, or resell their devices.

Every year my family goes to Mackinac Island. When there, we have to be very mindful of what we throw away because the island doesn't have a landfill and they charge you for the trash you create. This promotes recycling on the island. #apeswaste@franklinlorax
Due to electricity being more expensive here, my parents force us to turn off lights wherever we aren't at, and since that decreases our energy consumption, we reduce how much CO2 produced due to us using less electricity

when we drive our cars NOx comes out of our tailpipes and into the air that can pollute the air. to have less of the this we can carpool with other people, ride our bikes, or walk to places to reduce the amount of NOx realeased into the air. @franklinlorax#apesair
My family friends drive an electric car which saves energy. It’s better than driving a gas powered car as it doesn’t use gasoline, resulting in zero emissions. Driving a Tesla is one example in working towards a more sustainable energy future!! 🚗🌍 @franklinlorax#apesenergy
My dad’s car is a hybrid car. It has a gas engine and an electric motor. On the right side of the speedometer you can see whether the electric motor, gas engine, or both are working. This car has a mpg and has fewer emissions. @franklinlorax#apesenergy
This picture is an example of a convergent boundary. This happens when two tectonic plates are moving toward each other, causing one plate to slide below the other. The collision of the tectonic plates can result in earthquakes and volcanoes. @franklinlorax#apesland
After taking the ecological footprint quiz I found that it would take 3.9 earths to support me. However after making changes to my lifestyle I cut it down to 2.4 earths. If we all take the initiative to change we could make earth a much better place!@franklinlorax #apespop
*FOREST FIRES ARE NOT ALWAYS BAD!* In fact one of the main roles of a pine cone is to open up and spread seeds. However, some pine cones such as the Jack Pine develop a serotinous cone. These are Pine cones that can need fire to open up and spread seeds #apeseco@franklinlorax
Trees like this are home to K-Strategists such as Birds, because they are a species that shifts in population at the carrying capacity of the environment in which they live in, (birds with trees). #apeseco@franklinLorax
The emerald ash borer is a invasive species that kills ash trees. Firewood should not be transported because it can spread this tiny beetle to new areas. #apeseco@franklinlorax
About 71% of earth is covered with water. About 97% is salt water. Therefore only 3% is drinkable water. We should not waste water because today we are running out of water. @franklinlorax#apeswater
Franklin lies on the Root River watershed so much of our rain flows into creeks like these which eventually empty into Root River. #apeswater@franklinlorax
Many city’s have adopted the separate sewer system where rain water goes into a local waterway. It’s important excess organic material like leaves do not end up in the waterway because it can decrease the dissolved oxygen levels. #apeswater@franklinlorax
