@sheena_byrom How wonderful you can share your wisdom and experience with these midwives. They (and their clients) will benefit so much!! Hope you had a great trip. 🥰

“There is great variation in reliability and agreement measures for continuous intrapartum FHR monitoring, implying that intrapartum CTG should be used with caution for clinical decision making given its questionable reliability.”
Time for a rethink?
The time has come for a paradigm shift in obstetrics’ medico-legal litigations. Intrapartum fetal surveillance is still a controversial issue

Such a delight to be involved in this wonderful project! Many thanks for all your hard Deepa. Thanks to the students willing to learn how to recognise when birth goes awry & the skills to resolve a birth process complicated by a mechanical issue 💖
Gynaecoid is NOT the normal pelvis! Android pelvis is almost unknown in females. There’s a variety of shapes or as one study suggests a nebulous cloud.
#Midwives & #obstetricians are educated using misleading & often false info about the female pelvis based on a study from 1933!
Women themselves have very kindly shared with me* why they made an individual choice to go privately for their pregnancy. They capture the wide variety of individual reasons and nuance behind that decision making. A 🧵

Support and involvement of obstetric teams for Biomechanics for Birth is key to progressing it into standard care where it should be. Supporting physiology to make birth easier for women and babies. ❤️
@DaynaWright1@sheena_byrom@MollytheMidwife@BWH_NHS This is what I spoke to the delegation about in Oct 2017 @sheena_byrom It’s fantastic to see @MollytheMidwife bringing biomechanics for birth training to midwives and into daily practice!! Looking forward to the day it is standard training& standard practice (in NICE GL)
