Reminder that this is the last day to apply for a session proposal for our upcoming Commons City Conference in late August! Details are in the post below ⬇️
Yesterday we wrapped up the day at B-Records Studio, where I was in session recording a feature with Serena and connecting with Emkay64 and Kupit64. The space was filled with creativity, honest conversations, and a shared commitment to pushing the sound forward.
Together with Mr. Henry, we explored potential collaborations with diverse artists and producers, focused on building a richer and more sustainable ecosystem within the creative economy.
The track we worked on is part of my upcoming album, Under My Tint Doors & Chill, a project that emphasizes emotional intelligence and explores alternative approaches to trauma healing through healthy coping skills and self-awareness. The album is about empowering young people not just to dream about the good life they admire, but to intentionally invest in it, not by forcing outcomes, but by living through the discipline, mindset, and growth that make that vision a reality. Music, for me, remains both expression and impact.
Day 1 & 2 at the Mwanamke Imara Specialized PCVE Training 💛
It was powerful to witness women in security and justice institutions move beyond discussion into decisive action. From clarifying institutional mandates to strengthening coordination and early warning systems, the room was filled with practical solutions, bold commitments, and lived experiences shaping real change.
As part of this forum, I had the privilege of capturing best practices and stories of transformation — stories of women who are not just participating in PCVE spaces, but actively setting the agenda for safer, more resilient communities.
This is leadership rooted in courage, collaboration, and community impact. And this is only the beginning.

Inspired by the Mwanamke Imara Blueprint 💛 When women lead, communities heal. When women organize, cities become safer. This powerful reminder from Merab Shibuyanga speaks to the heart of our work, placing women at the center of preventing violence, strengthening families, and building resilient communities across Kilifi and beyond. #MwanamkeImara #WomenSecuringCities #PCVE #WomenLeadPeace #CanadainKenya #Canada

“PCVE is achieved through collaboration between the community and Justice & Security actors.” – Ivy Wasike, Principal Magistrate
At Mwanamke Imara, we believe prevention starts with partnership. When communities, women leaders, and justice institutions work together, we build trust, strengthen early warning systems, and create sustainable peace from the ground up.

📍 Kilifi | PCVE Specialized Training – Day 1
Today, under #MwanamkeImara, security and justice actors began a powerful learning journey focused on understanding institutional roles and emerging threats in PCVE.
Day 1 strengthened clarity on mandates, coordination mechanisms, and how evolving dynamics of violent extremism require proactive, gender-responsive responses.
When institutions understand their role, prevention becomes stronger.
When women lead in these spaces, communities become safer. 💛

Honored to represent YOWPSUD at the 3-day Regional Communication Strategic Workshop on PCVE. In my roles as Portfolio Lead for Peace & Security, Climate & Food Security, and Head of Communications, I was privileged to contribute perspectives on how responsible media and community voices can strengthen prevention of violent extremism.
As the Head of the CEF Working Group on Training and Capacity Building under the #NSPCVE implementation framework, this forum was highly relevant in shaping practical activities that align county action plans with the Communication & Technology Working Group. I was glad to present our group’s proposals as a media practitioner and journalist, which focused on interventions to be implemented by media practitioners before, during and after the electioneering period including proactive reporting, counter-narratives, unified information management, and strengthened coordination between media, CSOs and government to prevent hate speech and violence.
Grateful to @NCTC_Kenya for this impactful training and for empowering us to translate policy into community-centered action that protects lives, promotes peaceful elections, and upholds national values.

The Centre took part in the National-Level Working Session for the Finalization of the Contextualization of the Training of Trainers (ToT) Manual on Gender Mainstreaming with Intersectional Approaches in CT/PCVE held 29-30 January 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya. The session was organized by the @UN_OCT in partnership with the @NCTC_Kenya with support by @GAC_Corporate. #IGAD #PCVE
3 days of engagement. Diverse voices. One shared responsibility.
Over 40 stakeholders from national and county government, media, creative arts, influencers, and civil society convened in @KilifiCountyGov to deepen a shared understanding that clear, ethical, and responsible communication is critical in preventing and countering violent extremism, addressing harmful narratives, and strengthening community trust.
Implemented under the Kenya–EU partnership and aligned to Kenya’s #PCVE Strategy 2025–2030, the Communication and Media Stakeholders' Capacity Building Forum strengthened skills in planning and implementing effective PCVE campaigns and responsible messaging.
Together, we continue to build resilient communities, credible voices, and social cohesion.
