What problem are you solving?
No, really, look closer...
Nope, even closer...what is the underlying problem your Fans have?
There you go, that's what you need to be solving with your content.

Making sure you get your book concept in front of the right people is just as valuable as making sure it's a good concept to start with.
Many publishers, agents, and editors focus on specific types of books, and knowing which ones are interested in your topic is key.
What questions are your Fans asking time and time again
These are the problems you should be focused on solving. You can write new content, update old content, or even create products or services to help.
What questions do you keep getting from your fans? How can you solve them?
Love being a part of an event with all of these amazing speakers! If you are interested in monetizing your blog, you definitely don't want to miss out the latest IFBC @foodbloggerconference event.

You are not your audience!
This is so important but it's something we often forget. In almost all cases we are more knowledgeable, approach our niches differently, and have more expertise.
How are you different from your audience? How can you address what truly matters to them?
Stop doing what people tell you to do!
So many of us do what we are told "we need to do", even when we don't like doing it.
This is your business, and you are your own boss, so stop filling your days with tasks that you hate to do.

Niching down can be tough.
It feels like we are limiting what we can do by adding constraints to our subject.
But many creative people believe constraints are the easiest way to maximize the amount of content you can create while still serving your fans.

I'm so excited to be part of another @foodbloggerconference event. I'll be speaking about publishing cookbooks, including how to maximize sales and just what exactly do the finances of self publishing look like?

We all want to be perfect.
None of us can be.
Chasing perfection is a way to protect ourselves from having to release our work into the world, where people can see it, judge it, and reject it.
But you can't grow your blog, or your business, without putting your work out there
Most of us play it too safe when we create books, make courses, or develop recipes.
But if you want your offering to stand out, it can't be the same thing everyone else is offering. You need to have your unique spin on it.

Narrowing down our focus can be scary!
Whether this is our blog's niche, a cookbook we are working on, or a video course we are developing - we begin to worry about missed opportunities we are leaving on the table.

Writing a book proposal can be very intimidating for a lot of people, but it's a very valuable exercise.
Just the process of putting your thoughts down on paper, of trying to clearly communicate them, helps sharpen and clarify them.

Finding a niche, or switching to a new one can be really scary. There's so many unknowns, and it's impossible to know if it will resonate with you or your Fans.
That's why I like to suggest going on a test drive.

Just because publishers can't see the value in your idea doesn't mean it's not there. Exploring self publishing can be a great way to get the book you WANT to write to become a reality.

Writing a cookbook is hard work, and it takes a lot to push through it. But once you are done, the feeling of accomplishment is enormous.
This is why you need to do a book on something you love. More with @lori_rice at https://t.co/SYk8rdMX7b
Not everyone wants to publish a cookbook with 200 recipes. But you can also explore informational cookbooks that teach a concept, and story-based cookbooks that don't rely on recipes at all.
What type of book sounds most fun to write to you?
We often discover amazing places in our area and then we forget that others don't know about them.
What places in your area are doing unique things? Can you reach out to work together in a way that benefits both of you? More with @chefdebbi at https://t.co/QM6kICQajE
There are many ways to bring traffic to your blog but the people from each method are very different, and they want different things. If that doesn't match what you have to offer, neither of you will be happy.

Breakups are never easy, whether it is with a romantic partner or business partner, or even an old t-shirt you love. But if the fit isn't right anymore, you have to reconsider the partnership.
