Yesterday I talked with NBC about my journey with cancer, job loss and ACA subsidies. The crew was terrific and I’m happy to share this experience. I hope Congress comes to consensus soon on ways to extend the tax credits. https://t.co/nMXFrq4p9y
Health care fight in numbers:
Democrats want to spend about $1.5T more than Republicans over the next decade.
That’s <2% of projected federal spending.
Extending the expiring ACA credits alone — the bottom line for many Ds — is $350B over a decade, or 0.4% of federal spending.

Lately I’ve been thinking about ways we can step away from commoditized interaction and replace it with more meaningful relationship. What a pleasure to find this beautiful example. https://t.co/ilWRbh6F63
🧾 DC’s budget is being finalized, and it still includes $0 for housing chronically homeless single adults.
In this year’s Point In Time Count, 1,430 single adults reported being chronically homeless. That number has gone up from last year.
Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) is a proven, effective solution. The Mayor’s proposed budget included $0 for PSH for single adults, and the first Council vote did not change that.
DC shelters are full. People are timing into chronic status every day. Without housing, where are they supposed to go?
📣 Tell the Council to fund PSH now.

I have a 19-year-old friend who was living outside, secured housing and is now in a nurse’s aid training program. Permanent supportive housing is generative. It works!
DC’s Budget Has No New Funding for Housing—And the Consequences Are Dire
The Mayor’s proposed budget contains no new funding for Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) for individuals.
This means there will be no housing for the 800 people currently living outside.
As a city, we will not be able to connect even one new person to housing resources.
With shelters already at capacity and more extreme weather emergencies on the rise, this lack of investment will have devastating consequences for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
We must do better.
We must fund solutions that work.
Take action now and ask the DC Council to prioritize housing and services in the final budget:

The quality of his care. This was the fourth or fifth time I've met with this specialist and honestly was thinking about finding someone new because I've been underwhelmed. But today, with the help of the scribe app, he was focused and helpful in a way he had never been. 2/2
Today I had an appointment with a specialist provider, and he asked if I would agree to him using an AI scribe application. I said yes -- I am thrilled this incredibly useful application of #AI is making its way into practices. But I was totally shocked by how it changed 1/2
