South Africa will always live in my blood, but the country I loved is dead.

Our beautiful country that we defended, and cherished— has been looted, broken, and handed over to ruin. I watched it happen. I won’t pretend otherwise.

America took me in when my own nation deserted its people. So when the time comes, I will stand, hand on heart, and pledge my allegiance to the Stars and Stripes and the Republic for which it stands.

I will honour the memory of the old Transvaal, the old Cape, the old South Africa… but I will give every ounce of my sweat, fight, and loyalty to the country that still believes in merit, order, and freedom.

The past is gone. I refuse to let the future die the same way. America is my home now. And I will defend it like the last men who sang Die Stem once defended theirs.

The deindustrialisation of South Africa is a result of years of over-regulation, legislation such as race laws (BEE, EE) that harm the country's competitiveness, the electricity crisis, out-of-control crime, skills losses, the outflow of foreign capital and overall policy uncertainty. The result is stagnation, poverty, unemployment and consequently more emigration of skilled South Africans and further capital outflow. South Africa is unfortunately in a vicious cycle - all thanks to 32 years of ANC tyranny.
