The industry didn't "suddenly" declare war on gamers. This has been a low-intensity conflict going on 15+ yrs, accelerating in 2014, and is coming to a logical "fuck the consumer" conclusion.
You think otherwise b/c you dislike the people who were telling you it was happening.
A white man named Michael Hudson wrote a poem that was rejected 40 times when submitted under his real name, when he submitted it under the name Yi-Fen Chou (a Chinese woman's name ) it got published in a prestigious journal and for the 2015 edition of The Best American Poetry.

This reminds me of a story about the influential Critical Theorist and Marxist Theodore Adorno.
Adorno had spent almost his entire career theorizing about how to tear down western capitalism and replace it with some form of Marxism, Communism, or socialism.
Believing that "people wouldn't do crimes if their basic needs were met" while also believing that "greedy rich people are stealing from everyone" never registers to the people who say this shit as inherently contradictory.
"Suicidal empathy" gives these people too much credit.
It isn't empathy at all.
Empathy is grasping what another person actually feels and wants.
Elite progressives skip that step entirely.
They assume everyone shares their values, then mistake that projection for understanding.
They don't know these people at all.
They've painted their own reflection over them and fallen in love with it.
What terrifies me about this is the potential backlash against peaceful white people. Imagine if Muslims started mass-murdering Germans at Christmas markets, raping English teenage girls, stabbing Irish schoolchildren, or blowing up cars in Sweden?
They don't want people to figure out that if they just get off their arse they can fix their own community in 2 weeks. They want you to keep paying them taxes so they can fix your community for you. In 3 years. Maybe. Probably not.
When I got arrested for Nazi Pug, I got held in jail until my court date due to the "serious nature" of my "offence".
But the guy who threw a toddler into a crocodile enclosure to try and have him ripped limb from limb has already been bailed the very next day.
Clown country.
"On one occasion, a police officer returned Fiona to the house where the abuse was occurring and told the men to "have fun with her." On another occasion, police instructed the abusers that if they could persuade Fiona to sign herself out of care, the police would stop bothering them."
The biggest takeaway from the Rape Gang Inquiry is that contrary to the expectations of some, the police have not turned a blind eye to all of this and refused to get involved.
They have, in fact, picked a side.
And that side is the Pakistani rapists themselves.
