Faye: I feel incredibly happy whenever I get to celebrate my birthday or organize activities with my fans.
They've supported me throughout the entire year, so I wanted to create something we could all enjoy together.
🌻 Faye's Birthday Gift to Herself — A New Surname
Reporter: What birthday present did you give yourself?
Faye: Hmm, that's a good question!
Reporter: Do you have any goals for this year?
Faye: Oh! I've got it!
My birthday present to myself is changing my surname and creating a family name of my own. I'm becoming the first person in my own family line to carry it.
I was actually planning to surprise my fans, but they discovered it first!
They noticed that I'd written my new surname, Chindechanawakhun, on a bell at a temple.
Reporter: Is there a particular reason you chose to create a new surname?
Faye: Looking back at my life, I came from a provincial town. I didn't grow up in what people might consider a complete family.
I was just a girl chasing her dreams.
As I've grown older, I've come to realize that everything I've experienced, whatever happened along the way, has ultimately been meaningful and good for me.
So I wanted to give myself something special: a surname that truly belongs to me.
But that doesn't mean I've forgotten my ancestors or the people who have helped me throughout my life.
I haven't forgotten anyone.
We still love and care for one another, and I still respect everyone just as much as before.
I simply chose to give myself my own surname as a birthday present.
Reporter: What does your new surname mean?
Faye: It represents virtue, prosperity, honesty, integrity, and the Nine Virtues.
It makes me feel at peace and comfortable being myself.
I feel happy that I can give myself a birthday present like this.
Some fans might be surprised and wonder, "Wait, can someone actually create their own surname?"
International fans might not fully understand the idea of changing surnames.
But Thai fans will understand because auspicious names and changing names for positive meanings are part of Thai culture.
I'm still the same person.
The only difference is that now, if something makes me feel happy and comfortable, I allow myself to do it.
Reporter: Did it take you a long time to decide?
Faye: Not really!
Even when I changed my first name, it didn't take long.
If I like a name and it has a good meaning, I change it.
Even though I'm Christian, I can still do something like this.
If it's something positive and it gives me peace of mind, that's what matters.
Reporter: Some of your fans have even changed their surnames to yours!
Faye: Isn't that surprising?
I woke up one morning and suddenly everyone had changed their surnames! (Laughs.)
Thai fans don't have much trouble pronouncing it, but it's much harder for international fans.
Even spelling it is difficult!
Writing it in Thai is still manageable, but in English? That's a whole different story!
I'm happy that my fans are sharing this happiness with me.
And I'll continue working in the entertainment industry just as I always have.

Faye: I want to continue developing my own company and helping it grow within the entertainment industry.

As an artist, I can't do this without my fans.
They're the encouragement that keeps me going.
If you create something but nobody watches it, it can feel meaningless.
What gives our work meaning is knowing there are people who appreciate it.
So my goal is to keep improving the quality of everything I create.

Faye: Yes!
It's going to be a romantic comedy.
We've all been through so many difficult things, including the flooding.
So next year, I want to create something lighter and more enjoyable.

Atom is someone who overthinks a lot.
And I'm the complete opposite!
I hardly think about anything! (Laughs.)
Sometimes when she's overthinking something, I'll ask, "Wait, you actually worry about things like that?"
And she'll say, "What? Don't other people think about these things?!"
🌻 Temple Visits, Fortune-Telling & Their Different Personalities
Reporter: Is that why you wrote your names together on the temple bell?
Faye: She's from Northern Thailand, so I just follow her lead!
Reporter: Who took whom to the temple?
Faye: She took me.
I don't really know many temples.
I don't even know most of the Buddhist chants, apart from a few common ones that Thai people generally know.
Atom, on the other hand, is really into spiritual beliefs and fortune-telling!
If you're looking for her, you'll probably find her at a temple somewhere! (Laughs.)
She even reads tarot cards herself to explore her dreams and what they might mean.
I sometimes ask her, "Why do you need to have your fortune told?"
Reporter: So Atom has introduced you to a lot of new experiences?
Faye: So many!
She goes really deep into everything.
For example, when we visit a temple to pay respects, there are incense sticks and these enormous fortune-stick containers!
And I'm standing there thinking, "Atom, you're so tiny! How are you going to shake something that huge?"
She's so delicate, but there she is shaking this enormous container!
It's beyond anything I would have imagined!
But I support her in every journey she chooses to take.
Personally, I don't really want to know what the future holds.
Whatever happens, happens.
