It always bummed me out that Utena and Anthy never wore the armor from the intro to the show . So I doodled them in their fancy armor.

Doodled a picture of Utena and Anthy leading up to and after the recent theater showing. Was so happy to finally see my favorite movie of all time since its US release in theater 😭.

How I adored lda/The Bride. The Bride! was a really interesting movie, I didn't get her neat leg rig in the first drawing I did so I drew her again.

The Bride was so aesthetically pleasing, I adored her design. I watched it for the first time about a week ago and enjoyed it.

Finally started and actually finished something, unfortunately was so sick of coloring and inking roses by the end.

@americanmcgee We live in the times where all people do is read headlines and screenshots and go no further. How else will people get to feel superior to other people online? Who needs context right? Sorry this still continues to persist, it's completely absurd 😟 💜
Another drawing of Plague, mostly finished this a while ago but was avoiding reinking all the tiny flowers.

Kimiya looking very colorful, she was a random lovely lady I doodled on work breaks. Another drawing getting pretty beat up as she floated around in my notebook.

I'm sleepy, but I figured I better upload this before I damage it anymore lol. Once I finish stuff I'm really bad at keeping them safe. Cleaned her up for scanning.

Think I'm almost caught up to current time, the pile of stuff to be scanned has dwindled. Just a random character named Harmony this time around.

There's something magical emerging from the Dreadfuland sketches - a surreal world defined by the emotions and memories of a 10 year old boy. Where Dreadfuls live as soft reminders of his struggles and fears. Imagine navigating your dream spaces and talking with floofy manifestations of your anxiety or dyscalculia.
This sketch from @waltjan9 shows school as a place of towering dread. Adults like distant giants. An inability to grasp numbers sits alone in the shadows.
The only problem... I've yet to figure out how we're going to cram all 330+ Plushie Dreadfuls into this world. And I'm starting to think... we're going to need more than one story!
Another glimpse of The Towering School

Overthinking Bun reflecting on the dread this place generates for our main character.
What emotions did school bring out in you?
Plague again as I continue to draw her often, she comes up a lot as I get through the scanning of all the finished art. Prismacolor pencils and pen 9x12 inch paper

Work In Progress poster illustration from @OmriKoresh - for the Dreadfuland project.
Seen here is the main character - James - though once he arrives in Dreadfuland he's just referred to as "boy" as he's lost his memory. He's surrounded by a variety of Dreadfuls (the name given the plushies by the evil guys who rule this place). And in the background, we can see the exploded geography of floating islands - each location a reflection of different physical and mental health themes.
Key themes we're working on for the Dreadfuland story:
- Integration over suppression
- Emotions aren't problems to solve, they're vital parts of self
- Healing requires feeling everything, not nothing
- Identity worth recovering even when stolen
- Names matter
- Love requires vulnerability
- Rage protects what matters
- Grief is love with nowhere to go
- Control disguised as care is violence
- Becoming whole means accepting all of yourself
Let us know in the comments what you think of the poster so far! ❤️
@americanmcgee Lum no Love song from the 80's anime Urusei Yatsura, this reached into my brain so deep. I was like how the hell do I know the song and what is it from? Somewhere in the dust it was there still buried LOL. Really caught me off guard hearing this out of nowhere.
Landed on my Lovely witch as scan who is very Valentine's themed right as we enter February. I wanna draw her again she is kind of cute.
