@Hollie_Plemons@jamesdickey@bonnieabadie@lynnsdavenport It’s also a fact that some private schools are making their current financial aid scholarship students apply for this money first this year, as well as teachers who get discounts for their kids 😡
@coachdavis2122@Hollie_Plemons@jamesdickey I know of more than one private school that made their current financial aid scholarship students apply for the funds first, as well as teachers who get discounts for their kids. So that’s increasing numbers too…
Well, what do you know?
*76%* of Texas school voucher applications come from families whose children are not enrolled in public schools. Less than 1% of public and charter school families have applied for vouchers.
It's straight up welfare for the wealthy #txlege
@BlackLabelAdvsr@ddm_2023 So private schoolers get $10k-30k depending on special needs, and over 110,000 people have already applied, with a month left to do so, and you don’t think the lottery system will happen when there’s $1B total up for grabs? 😂
@txcomptroller How many of those were already in private schools? Bc I know of private schools requiring their current financial aid students & teachers with kids to apply for this first before they get aid/teacher discount. “Steal from your neighbor before the funds freely given are available”
@brentmoney Why are you thanking a former p*rn star? He shouldn’t have any kind of influence or platform where children are concerned, nor should Texas lawmakers be propping him up.
@Hollie_Plemons@brentmoney Well they can try and fail to save face, because we all know we warned them over and over about the reality of what they were doing. But they chose to laugh and mock instead of listen and be TRUE conservatives
@TPPF@katebierlytx Are you talking about implementing these in public schools only, or are private schools that take ESA money going to be included in these proposed policies?
@brentmoney@Davy1836 Really? Because when we visited your office we were told you (and a lot of other freshmen) didn’t like the bill and didn’t want to vote for it but felt pressure from the guv’nah
