I honestly don't understand how politicians with warmth and cozy homes get to decide whether or not to open warming centers for people experiencing homelessness. I don't understand how they vote NO to 24/7 warming centres while they keep warm in their homes. This is pure evil.
Note to Canadian Premiers. 196.2 billion $ (46 billion new funding) is a huge amount of money. It is not Federal money as such. It is TAX PAYER money. If you can’t make the improvements we expect, then we need new Provincial Governments. Make it work. Stop whining.
@flyingmonkey13 How do you manage the parent population? In the neighbourhood where I teach, the parents have so much control. 7 minute walk away to where my daughter attends our local school, the parents have far less influence. The inequity is mind-boggling. We need some middle-ground.
A four-year old child sick with pneumonia and RSV waited 40hours in an Emergency Room hallway in Ontario because of a shortage of nurses. This child could have died. Meanwhile, documents reveal that Doug Ford is about to cut costs in healthcare staffing for his own agenda.
My classroom ran out of paper towel and I was told we have no more because of “budget issues”. Let that sink in. We have no money in our budget for PAPER TOWELS. Remember this when @Sflecce spews his crap about historic investments in education.
@JBradshaw01 If you have an early morning emergency, it’s been generally acceptable to call my admin and they take care of it. Fine by me. A usually simple task my OA doesn’t have to take on. 2/2
@JBradshaw01 In the schools I’ve worked in, save for my first 4 or 5 years, it’s been the teacher’s responsibility to book a supply if you know you are going to be away. At bare minimum, you put it in the system. Once you’ve put the job in the system, you’ve done your part. 1/
Expecting CUPE to sit out in the cold to hold out for "a better deal for #Ontario's kids" is delusional. The fact is, Doug Ford doesn't give a crap about #OntEd & children.
Voters had the chance to vote for their kids last June: They chose a fucking highway & grift instead. 😒
I still can’t believe the @JustinTrudeau is testifying this week and @fordnation spent tax dollars to avoid testifying.
Doug Ford is a coward #POEC#cdnpoli
Why is @Sflecce still banging on about extracurriculars?? He cannot guarantee that people will keep VOLUNTEERING! He plays no part in teams and clubs, that is entirely the good will and free efforts of educators. #onted
@ianhanomansing I’m generally embarrassed to admit this but in the name of Halloween candy, a lot can be done. I think my generation uses feet and inches/pounds. Due to identification purposes I know my height in centimetres but I still have to look up the conversion for lbs to kg. It’s sad.
Imagine being in an awful car wreck. The car is totalled & ppl are injured. @Sflecce comes along. He offers u a bandaid & some glue, then tells u to get back in the car & drive.
The car is our edu system
The ppl in the car are #CUPE members, other educators & kids
#FireLecce
FYI: It's actually not teachers' or education workers' jobs to "get a good deal for kids."
That's done at the voting booth by citizens. When the electorate knowingly re-elects the most heartless candidate on the ballot, students will get a rough ride. #OntEd#OnPoli
Ontarians care about each other. We care for our children, our sick, the old, and anyone else who needs support. We are compassionate. You have a social contract to fulfill! This is not a private business. @Sflecce@fordnation#FireLecce#FORDmustRESIGN
