When they want to deflect, gaslight and to wear you out from defending yourselves, they use this narrative. The goal is to alienate and to use divide and conquer to distract from the real issue. Saying no to the imposition of GeoPomona deal on Bulawayo has nothing to do with tribalism etc. Just follow the procedures, kanti what's hard about that?

Being a special adviser to the President does not give you the right to demand government contracts for your private businesses. Any special adviser whose company wants to do business with national or local government entities must follow and respect procurement processes.

I spent the whole night thinking about the Zimbabwe National Organisation of Residents Association Trust poster which is being circulated on WhatsApp concerning its Ngozi Mine Dumpsite Tour. I find the planned tour ridiculous. But my biggest issue is how daily we are bombarded with government institutions and officials hailing ED as a listening president who is leading the country for the people's benefit. So why are they refusing to listen to Bulawayo residents on the GeoPomona deal? Why do they want to impose this private company on us?

Now they are sending a probably state-sponsored and Zanu-affiliated national body of residents to do a tour in order to override the voices of Bulawayo residents. How can an organisation which claims to be a national body of residents associations not engage with our local resident associations to understand the Ngozi Mine crisis better and to hear what we want? They want to grandstand and probably paint a picture of GeoPomona as some saviour and push a narrative that Bulawayo City Council is failing. The Ngozi Mine crisis and every other crisis you see in our cities and towns is due to the failures of our central government. They create a terrible mess and then when they want to loot and profit through their private initiatives, they come as sheep carrying development tags and mantras that they want to clean and restore order in our cities.

Back to that fake national body, go through their Facebook page and you will see that this body has nothing concrete it will say. Actually, they even quoted the GeoPomona Waste Management post and you think they will have independent findings? They won't.

The Ngozi Mine Dumpsite is a crisis, we know that and we don't need a Harare based organisation to do a tour of the site to tell us what's going on. Siyakwazi. If they really really cared to fix the issue, follow the procedures as outlined in the Constitution and Urban Councils Act. Follow the Bulawayo City Council procedures. Our city cannot be held at ransom in order to fatten the pockets of a few individuals. Asivumi!!!!!
