Truthfully, there is not a single player that we could've signed that people would've been happy about seeing in #17..

But also need to remember..

We gave #10 to Grealish after Aguero.

Phillips had #4 after Kompany.

Ferran, Gomez and now RAN have #21 after Silva.

Nobody can change what our legends did for us in their respective shirts.

But if we weren't going to retire #17 for KDB, then we were setting ourselves up for this exact scenario. And given his reputation, I'm glad he has the balls to step into those shoes.
