Karnataka Lokayukta Raids 35+ Locations, Unearths Disproportionate Assets Worth Over ₹31 Crore

The #Karnataka Lokayukta Police conducted simultaneous search operations at more than 35 locations across the state, exposing massive wealth amassed by eight government officials.

The simultaneous operations spanned #Bengaluru, Davanagere, Kalaburagi and Chikkamagaluru, targeting residences,offices and properties linked to the accused.

According to the #Lokayukta Statement, investigators discovered immovable assets valued at ₹22.7 crore and movable assets worth ₹8.38 crore, ranging from luxury homes and farmland to gold, silver, vehicles and cash.

1. Rajanna S. L., Additional Director, Town Planning (KHB, Bengaluru): Raids at five locations revealed assets worth ₹7.10 crore, including three sites, two houses and three acres of land. Gold, silver and bank deposits added another ₹1.07 crore.

2.Manik S. Kanakatte, Superintendent Engineer, PWD (#Kalaburagi): Found with assets worth ₹4.94 crore, including a commercial complex, five sites, three houses and significant bank savings.

3. Uday Kumar M. B., Asst. Executive Engineer, BESCOM (Bengaluru): Searches uncovered 10 sites, a house, and farmland worth ₹2.66 crore, plus vehicles and other movable assets totaling ₹87.9 lakh.

4. K. S. Mohan, Assistant Conservator of Forests (#Chikkamagaluru): Assets worth ₹3.62 crore, including seven acres of land and multiple houses.

5. Harshavardhan P. N., Deputy Conservator of Forests (Bengaluru Rural): Raids revealed assets worth ₹2.70 crore, including four sites and two houses.

6. Siddeshwar N. Hebbal, Chief Mechanical Engineer, NWKRTC (#Davanagere): Found with gold and silver ornaments worth ₹1.23 crore and ₹37 lakh in cash, totaling ₹2.61 crore.

7. Sanna Kenchappa, Superintendent Engineer, KRIDL (Davanagere): Assets worth ₹2.54 crore, including 31 acres of farmland and three houses.

8. Krishna Naik L. A., Secretary, Bayaluseeme Area Development Board (Davanagere): Found with seven sites, three houses, and farmland worth ₹2.57 crore.

Lokayukta Officials confirmed that disproportionate asset cases have been formally registered at respective police stations.

Not sure about that but let me share my experience. When I started a donation appeal in 2022 for families whose houses and shops were buldozed in Delhi, MP etc, I got a call from @asadowaisi, He asked me not to do any donation drive. He said, They'll come after you, as the govt is desperately waiting for an opportunity to go after you. Not because he didn't want people to donate to the victims. But because he was concerned about me, He didn't want me to get into this.
When I told him that the donation amount will directly go to victims account and not though my account. He said, In that case it's fine. But be very careful.
