So after 2 years of begging, waiting, listening to budget speeches, Marching, meetings and promises
The @DOAgov_ZA and @TreasuryRSA are still singing the same song: "No Funding"
2 years sitting at home๐
Ja neh.

How can you people ignore our cries of desperation?
The weight of unemployment is crashing us. We're lost, hopeless and desperate.
Our dreams are shattered.
For 2 full years now, we have been begging for jobs ๐

@Our_DA While we appreciate your commitment to fighting for economic growth and jobs, we urge you to take a more concrete stance on the issue of #UnemployedAgricGraduates.
We have been struggling to get our jobs for 2 years now๐
@jsteenhuisen@DOAgov_ZA @TreasuryRSA
@CyrilRamaphosa A thriving agricultural sector is crucial for economic growth. To achieve this, it's imperative to address the glaring gap in Extension Officer to farmer ratio. Reinstating the Assistant Agricultural Practitioners (AAPs) is a vital first step
In my mind right now is the plight of the #UnemployedAgricGraduates almost 5000 of them! Sitting at home when there is MASSIVE NEED for their services. The so called GNU is punishing our people!
@Mngxitama2 Every year, @DOAgov_ZA advertises a mere 100 posts, despite knowing that tens of thousands of agric graduates remain unemployed. This number grows exponentially as new graduates enter the job market annually. Is it fair to dangle such limited opportunities?
@Mngxitama2 Professional bodies like @SACNASP_01 collect annual fees of R610, yet they fail to provide meaningful assistance in securing permanent employment for their registered professionals. This raises a critical question: how are unemployed professionals expected to afford these fees?
By refusing to reinstate us, @DOAgov_ZA is not only denying us the opportunity to achieve our dreams and earn a living, but also condemning local farmers to failure. This decision has far-reaching consequences.

@TreasuryRSA
@Mngxitama2 The #AAPs program aimed to address two pressing issues: the shortage of Extension Officers and the high unemployment rate among agric graduates. The goal was to hire over 10,000 officers by 2024. However, the program was cancelled.
Where did the allocated funds go?
@Mngxitama2 Instead of Reinstating us, they keep advising us to start our own farming businesses, but ironically many existing small-scale farmers are struggling to survive. They're failing due to inadequate support from the @DOAgov_ZA and a severe shortage of Extension Officers.
@Mngxitama2 It's really baffling that @DOAgov_ZA cancelled the Assistant Agricultural Practitioners program, staffed by qualified, experienced, and SACNASP-registered professionals. They were the solution to South Africa's shortage of Extension Officers.

thousands of young agricultural graduates are jobless, yet only 42 posts are advertised. This is an insult to our intelligence and a slap in the face. We demand the reinstatement of the 5000 Assistant Agricultural Practitioners. It's time to revive this initiative.
