@Manoj8Satapathy @neha_laldas Issue is 30% reduction in merit seats (Unreserved Open)bin 2026. GC and OBC share approx. 50% each. GC share in actual allotment is around 20% including EWS. Not sure if it can be challenged legally.

The new policy has caused major seat blocking across MCC & State counselling, hurting students with good NEET ranks. MCC must enforce rules requiring candidates to accept one seat and vacate either the MCC or State seat by round 3.

We are in final round of counselling but @NMC_BHARAT has not approved these seats yet. @CMO_Odisha reduced 300 GC seats with new reservation and promised 200 seat increase to compensate impact. Meritorious students are feeling cheated.

@MahalingMukesh , I humbly request your urgent attention to the shortage of Government MBBS seats in Odisha for 2026–27.

The reservation policy has affected many meritorious students, while the new MCC counselling system has also caused inconvenience. Reports of candidates holding seats in both MCC & OJEE counselling may be leading to seat blocking.

Sir, kindly look into this matter seriously and consider increasing Government MBBS seats before/by Round 3 of OJEE counselling, giving more deserving students an opportunity.

I also request @mcc_india to examine the issue of possible seat blocking and ensure efficient utilization of available seats.

@neha_laldas @talk2anuradha Thanks Mam for highlighting this. Optically it may look like 50% seats are available for merit, but we do have horizontal reservation as well. Technically meritorious students of all categories fight for 34% UR seats. Hence GC cutoff is very high this year.

@careers360 Sir, there is serious seat blocking issue in MCC counselling due to which many eligible candidates are in dire stress. Higher ranked candidates have blocked seats both in state as well as in MCC due to new online rule. What action can MCC take if they just leave MCC seat in R3.

@otvkhabar GC seats were effectively given to SC/ST by doubling the quota. This year, an ST student got a Govt MBBS seat at 5 lakh AIR, while a General/OBC student with 23k AIR missed out. The same pattern continues in PG. Merit must matter—public health cannot be compromised.

@SanjayAzadSln BJP just doubled SC ST reservation in Odisha this year. They are no different from other parties when it comes to reservation. If you want India to compete with China then start promoting merit.

This year OJEE MBBS counselling will be horror show. General open seats are only 30% of total seats. All meritorious candidates across all categories will share these 30% open seats. Request @HFWOdisha @MahalingMukesh @MohanMOdisha to prioritise merit when public health at stake

Medical aspirants from odisha sincerely request the Odisha government and NMC to increase seats in all GMC.Gen seats which are around 1200 in 2025 have now been decreased to 525 due to new reservation policy for which gen students are mentally frustrated.@NMC_IND @MohanMOdisha
