I volunteer at #Oxfam & a man came in today to donate toys and children's books precisely because he had read this @caitlinmoran@thetimes article. Please do take your clean, usable, saleable items to a charity shop before #Christmas rather than waiting until afterwards 😊

I loved my conversation today with Anne Marie Purcell, Chief Transformation Officer @BeeNetwork. 🐝 🚌
My focus for first 3 wks of new role was to get to know & understand the people I’d be working with, the missions we’d be working on & the key enablers and barriers to delivering our ambitions.
100+ conversations later, my aim this week is to make sense of all I’ve heard & get clear(er) on how I best play my role.
When I met Anne Marie this morning my head was full. She cut through it all, reminding me of what really matters if you want to make stuff happen. 🎯
We have the opportunity to deliver real change in Greater Manchester - and we must if we are to enable good lives for all.
There will never be a better moment. We are the people we’ve been waiting for!
So I’ve decided, it’s time to reclaim the word ‘transformation’ and be more Anne Marie. With focus, discipline, care and humour. 🔥
Relentless oppression grips Afghan women and girls:
⚫ Stripped of rights
⚫ Shut out of schools
⚫ Confined at home
⚫ Now silenced from speaking to each other
Injustice threatens us ALL. Speak up for women and girls in #Afghanistan.
She was the first female Minister of Education, fought for justice, equality, women's rights, workers rights, international relations, and was one of the leading political voices against the rise of Fascism in 1930s Europe.
Great choice, @RachelReevesMP.

There has been so much (deserved) praise for this clip, meanwhile women who fight for female only spaces because of the *exact reason* mentioned in this clip get called bigots as a bunch of men who claim to be women & their enablers try to destroy our lives.
Gisele Pelicot took the stand at the French mass rape trial with a message for survivors:
“It’s not for us (victims) to have shame - it’s for them "
Such a courageus woman
