CONGRATULATIONS TO “BUD” CRAWFORD FOR HIS HOF PERFORMANCE & CAREER—but—in the immediate post fight commentary, the lead (American) broadcaster said, “…Crawford has made boxing history…the only man to be a 2 division undisputed world champion”
I’m sure he meant in the 4 belt (aka “alphabet”) era but many fans will be misled as he didn’t clarify! There have been many multi division “undisputed” world champions. To name a few, Holyfield, Griffith, Basilio, Sugar Ray Robinson and Henry Armstrong (3 divisions at the same time).
Its a great career accomplishment for Crawford regardless as the promoters & (too many) commissions have been screwing fighters and fans out of having legitimate fully recognized champions with bullshit mandatories and rankings that don’t recognize each other’s title holders while recognizing and ranking connected promoters unworthy fighters!
