A big thank you to the @mybmc solid waste department, sewerage cleaners, and all ground-level employees working on the field and risking their lives during this continuous rain spell.
While we will continue to point out systemic faults and hold BMC accountable, the mistakes of a few should not undermine the tireless efforts of these frontline workers.
However, department heads of the garden, stormwater drains, and various other wings have clearly failed to proactively make Mumbai monsoon-ready. The administrative leadership must match the dedication shown by their ground staff.

A big thank you to @MumbaiPolice for their continuous efforts in keeping the city and its residents safe.
If there is any way our citizens' group can support your initiatives or assist the department, please let us know. We stand ready to collaborate.

It’s unfortunate that the victim is the one being blamed. The BMC chief witnessed a man falling into a manhole with her own eyes — a stark reminder of what Mumbaikars face every monsoon. Yet instead of accountability, questions are being raised about how he fell, his behaviour, and even claims that he was sent by a political party. If a BMC worker can be blamed after such an incident, imagine the value placed on the lives of ordinary Mumbaikars. @RuchaKanolkar15@TawdeRitu@mybmc@AshwiniBhide
Chandivali Farm Road has been converted into an unauthorized parking zone for heavy vehicles, causing significant issues for nearby residential complexes. A majority of these trucks are operated by Anmol Roadlines (Sakinaka). There are concerns regarding the lack of enforcement by the local traffic department in this matter.

DP Road 9, Powai, is flooding because the newly laid sewage line is leaking. This road was completed only about six months ago. This is the quality @mybmc concretization work. If roads are flooding before the monsoon, what will the condition be during the monsoon? @mybmcInfra
Serious safety hazard at Chandivali Farm Road, opp Vicina Complex. The "Nahar Developers Yuu Project" has covered the road in cement dust. Dangerous for bikers! Why are mandatory BMC pollution & noise rules being ignored? @mybmcWardL@MumbaiPolice https://t.co/Q8Nr1U96p8
Kurla West Station Road near Bharat Cinema is a "No-Go" zone. Illegal autos and encroachments have taken over from 7 AM onwards every single day. Absolute chaos for pedestrians and vehicles alike.

The hypocrisy of political parties and corporators has been exposed now that the BMC elections have concluded. The city is once again covered in illegal hoardings, and footpaths are being encroached upon. Parties that promised to tackle air pollution were seen bursting crackers during their campaigns and victory celebrations. An illegal hoarding-free Mumbai, a pollution-free city, and the 'pedestrian first' policy remain myths confined to political parties manifestos. Article in today's @fpjindia

#BMCElection Learnings
1) People do not take independent candidates seriously.
2) Most people vote for the same parties regardless of their living conditions.
3) Parties do not award tickets based on merit, but rather on a candidate's "winnability."
4) Karyakartas are expected to serve their political masters indefinitely, with very slim chances of transitioning into a Neta themselves.
5) The distribution of money and freebies remains a key strategy to garner votes.
6) Citizens do not see tangible gains regardless of which political party wins.
7) The "Pedestrian First" policy and a hoarding-free Mumbai remain myths. Within 24 hours of election results illegal hoardings are back.
8) Parties promising clean air contribute to pollution by bursting crackers during campaigns and victory celebrations. Hypocrisy of political parties exposed.
9) Party hopping will continue as candidates prioritize personal gain over ideology.

Mumbai's BMC controls a SHOCKING ₹75,000 crore annual budget—bigger than many states—yet potholes, floods, and corruption continue. Watch this eye-opening podcast with Times of India journalist Richa Pinto:
#WATCH Chandivali's abandoned, incomplete 90-feet road—which should be solving our traffic nightmares—has instead become a massive parking lot.
