Dr. Mark Hallett has passed away. A titan and guiding light within neurology, movement disorders, and medicine itself—as well as a wonderful man and mentor. He was so generous and supportive to me as a young intern in his lab and to countless others. May his memory be a blessing.
What a wonderful weekend in Denver at the MDS-PAS 10th Annual Movement Disorders School for Neurology Residents! Thank you to @movedisorder for hosting and connecting us all to learn from each other, some inspiring patients, and many clinician educators about movement disorders.
Hail #futureneurologists!

When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. ❤️💍🥹 @MarqueeArtsA2
How the neuromuscular junction works:
- Presynaptic depolarization
- Calcium influx
- Ach vesicle fuses with membrane
- Binds to Ach receptor
- Na channel opens
- Acetylcholinesterase recycles Ach
- Postsynaptic depolarization
Now let’s see that in action…

Doing a little dance in my office right now. The sun is out, the sky is blue, and the brightest stars are coming to Michigan!
Thanks to everyone (people and mysterious algorithms) who made this possible. I'm excited to get the 9 of you in a room and watch the magic unfold!
TW: suicide
There is an empty corner desk in a resident workroom at GW. Now forever engraved in my mind, that desk is a harrowing reminder of the cost of medical training. In his final words, Dr. William West said that he was simply out of gas, that he had nothing left to give.
8 U of Michigan Medical School Departments showed up to battle for the #WolverineCup Trophy 🏆
The winning #pickleball team was from Emergency Medicine who beat Neurology in a close match 😬
Big shoutout to @KSecrestMD for great planning and superb execution. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
