Productive meeting with @WorldBankKenya's transport specialist Mr. Josphat Sasia and NEDI Coordinator Mr. @simba_guleid. Our focus: the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project, particularly the Isiolo to Mandera Road. Safety of contractors and community awareness took center stage.

As @FCDCKenya Governors, we received insightful briefings on the Equalization Fund from @AbdikadirMohami, @CRAKenya, and Equalization Fund C.E.O. Our discussions centered on expediting implementation and maximizing impact.

Witnessing the dedication and collaboration of everyone involved was truly inspiring. Together, we are actively paving the way for sustainable development and ushering in positive change in our frontier counties.

Honored to have attended the two-day workshop at Great Rift Valley Lodge, Nakuru County, along with esteemed colleagues from Council Of Governors @KenyaGovernors, Ministry of Health NG @MOH_Kenya, CECMs Health, and State Department for Social Protection.

Our objective was to fully devolve remaining Health functions as per the constitution and address vital issues like Community Health promoters, UHC staff, MES Equipment, Primary care Networks, NHIF @nhifkenya and KEMSA reforms @Kemsa_Kenya. A joint communique was issued, and we signed the IPA for equipment deployment.

Together, we are making great strides towards a robust healthcare system.

Today I chaired The Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Budget as we held meetings with the Council of Governors and Commission on Revenue Allocation to deliberate on the Equalization Fund (Administration) Bill. The principal object of the Bill is to provide for a framework on the Administration of the Equalization Fund. Further, noting that the Fund lapses in the next seven years, the proposed law seeks to ammend the sunset clause to provide for an extension of the sunset period by another 10 years in line with the provisions under Article 204(6) of the Constitution. This is informed by the fact that the marginalized counties are yet to benefit from the Equilization fund as envisaged by the constitution. The fund is in Arears of over 40 billion.

A CAMPAIGN PROMISE FULFILLED!

It was a great honor for me earlier today to have officiated the launch of Masalani Municipality. This, by all means, is a commendable,
achievement by my administration after only 8 months of being in office. Such development is also a true manifestation of the spirit of devolution since the creation of the Municipality stands for taking services more closer to our rural masses.

I wish to take this opportunity to thank CS @HonAdenDuale, Sen. @abdulhaj & the many other leaders who joined me to grace this historic event. I also would like to convey my gratitude and appreciation to the many county officials who contributed in one way or another to making this great mission a reality.

As I wish all success for Masalani Municipality, I would also like to confirm that my administration plans for the creation of 2 more Municipalities (i.e. Dadaab and Bura) before the end of this current year - inshaAllah.
