Sometimes we pray, make dua, do dhikr, and then become frustrated when the one thing we desperately want isn’t given to us.

But ask yourself: Do I worship Allah because I love Him

I hope you prayed Raka'atanul Fajr,

If you couldn't, then pray Salatul Duha.

If you couldn't, then pray the four rak'ahs before Zuhr.

If you couldn't, then pray the two rak'ahs after Zuhr.

If you couldn't, then pray the two rak'ahs after Maghrib.

If you couldn't, then pray the two rak'ahs after Isha.

If you couldn't, then pray shafai and witr.

If you couldn't, then wake up at night and pray at least two rak'ah of Tahajjud.

If you couldn't, then pray at least one rak'ah of witr.

If you can't, then fast on Mondays and Thursdays.

If you can't, then fast only Mondays, or only Thursdays.

If you can't, then frequently give out in charity.

If you can, then do all.

Just don't let a day go by without doing a voluntary act of worship.

-If your strength is in Nawafil prayers, then hold onto it while learning to adopt other voluntary acts of worship.

-If your strength is in voluntary fasting, then hold onto it while learning to adopt other voluntary acts of worship.

-If your strength is in spending in charity, then hold onto it while learning to adopt other voluntary acts of worship.

May Allah grant us the strength and willingness to be able to do more acts of worship for His sake.

May Allah bring us closer to Him.

May Allah heal what is broken in us, grant our silent wishes, and make them khair for us.

May Allah have mercy on the deceased Muslims and make Jannah our final destination without reckoning.

May Allah reward our parents with goodness and bless them with good health and prosperity.

May Allah provide the unmarried ones with the best of spouses and make them excellent for each other.

May Allah provide the childless with children that will be blessings to both them and the entire Ummah.

And to you reading this, may Allah bless you with the best of both worlds... 🤲

Fatima Bint Muhammad ﷺ

Fatimah was the fifth child of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Khadijah.

She was about five years old when The Prophet received revelation so scholars say “she grew up in Islam.”

One of her nicknames was Ummu Abeeha (Her Father’s Mother), due to the fact that she was always in his company and ready to defend him, just like a mother would do for her child. Once she saw her father while he was in sujood, and `Uqbah ibn Abi Mu`ayt came and placed the guts of a dead animal on the Prophet’s back while he was praying. Fatima ran to her father and removed the filth from his back while she was crying. The Prophet ﷺ saw her crying and said, “Don’t cry my daughter, for indeed Allah will make your father victorious”.

She adopted so many characteristics from her father, that Aisha says, “I have not seen anyone who resembled the Holy Prophet ﷺ more in manners, habits, character and in the method of sitting and standing than Fatimah.” (Tirmidhi)

The Prophet ﷺ had so much love for her that if he would be seated and Fatima would enter he would get up and kiss her between her eyes, all the time.

When Ali and Fatima got married the Prophet ﷺ was involved in their life. Once the Prophet ﷺ went to visit them and found Fatima at home alone, he asked where Ali was, she told him that they were upset with each other and that Ali has left the house.

The Prophet ﷺ went to look for Ali and found him sleeping in the masjid covered in dust. The Prophet ﷺ woke him while wiping away the dust saying, “get up the father of dust”. He did not even ask them what they fought about and instead told Ali, “O Ali come back to your home with me”.

Even though Fatima and Ali were poor they still had a happy marriage. The Prophetﷺ would go to visit them and he would hear their laughter from outside. They had four children, Hasan, Hussayn, Muhsin (who died very shortly after birth) and Umm-Kulthoom.

Fatima was only 28 years old when her father died. She went through a very hard time. She entered upon the Prophet ﷺ when he fell ill, but he was unable to get up to kiss her, as he usually does. So she sat to the right of the Prophet ﷺ while she was crying. The Prophet ﷺ said “bring your ear closer to me O Fatima”, so he whispered something in her ear, so she cried. The Prophet ﷺ again said “bring your ear closer to me O Fatima” and he whispered something else in her ear, and so she laughed. Aisha later asked her after the death of the Prophet ﷺ, please tell me what he whispered to you, she said, “firstly he said “O Fatima I am going to die tonight,” and so I cried, and when he saw me crying he said, “will you not be satisfied that you will be the first from amongst my family to follow me and that you will be the leader of the women of Paradise”, and so I laughed”.

Fatimah died six months after the Prophet ﷺ, and she instructed Ali, “When you bury me to cover me properly, I don’t want anyone to see anything of me, and bury me during the night for I am embarrassed from the multitude of people attending.”.

Ali was very upset by her death and cried a lot. He said, “I have never been more exhausted from anything more than I was as a result of the death of the Prophet and Fatimah within six months of each other”.

Fatimah was the highest example of chastity, honor, modesty, and piousness for all Muslim women.

May Allah make us able to follow her footsteps!

i put together a few important lessons from the chapter on janābah that many muslims may not know:

1. ghusl becomes obligatory through either of two things:

• ejaculation
• penetration, even if ejaculation does not occur

once penetration takes place, ghusl is required from both spouses.

2. mere physical contact between the private parts does not automatically require ghusl.

the obligation begins when penetration occurs, not simply through touching or closeness.

3. if a person has a wet dream but sees no discharge upon waking, ghusl is not required.

the ruling is connected to actually seeing the fluid, not merely remembering a dream.

4. likewise, if a person finds semen but does not remember a dream, ghusl is required.

what matters is the presence of the discharge.

5. a woman can also experience a wet dream and is required to perform ghusl if she sees the fluid.

the women of the ansār were praised because shyness did not prevent them from asking questions about their religion.

6. a woman does not have to loosen her braids for ghusl from janābah, provided water reaches the scalp and the roots of the hair.

the point is complete washing, not unnecessary hardship.

7. semen is considered pure according to the stronger scholarly view.

if it is wet, it may be wiped/washed away. if it is dry, it may be scraped or rubbed off. washing it is also perfectly fine.

8. not every stain requires washing the entire garment.

Aa'ishah, may Allāh be pleased with her, corrected a man who immersed his clothes in water without even seeing anything on them. excessiveness in purification can open the door to doubtful whispers.

9. Islam does not encourage wastefulness in ghusl.

the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him, performed ghusl with a relatively small quantity of water. cleanliness does not require emptying buckets upon buckets over oneself.

10. if water is unavailable, a person in janābah must not abandon the prayer.

he performs tayammum and prays. tayammum is a valid substitute for ghusl until water becomes available or he is able to use it.

11. one tayammum is sufficient for both major and minor ritual impurity.

a person does not need one tayammum for janābah and another for wuḍūʾ.

12. tayammum does not have to be repeated for every prayer.

a person may pray obligatory and voluntary prayers with it until something invalidates the purification or water becomes available.

13. the whole earth has been made a place of prayer and a means of purification for this ummah.

a Muslim should not deliberately miss the prayer merely because there is no mosque nearby.

14. the Prophet would first ask a person for an explanation before reprimanding him.

when he saw a man standing apart from the prayer, he did not immediately condemn him. he first asked what prevented him from joining them.

a lesson in both fiqh and character: seek clarification before blame.

15. intimate questions are not shameful when they are asked for the purpose of learning the religion.

true modesty does not mean remaining ignorant about purification, menstruation, janābah or marital rulings.

16. the Mothers of the Believers, may Allāh be pleased with them, performed a tremendous service for this Ummah.

they preserved details of the Prophet’s private worship and household life that men outside his home could not have known.

17. the general spirit of this chapter is ease without carelessness:

wash properly, but do not waste water.
remove what needs removing.
ask when you do not know, and;
never allow embarrassment to keep you ignorant of your religion.

and Allāh knows best.
