@AnneTiedemann1 My mother resisted going into care till she was 97. Lived alone heavily supported by the one sister who still lived in Adelaide. When she went into residential care she made new friends, ate better and loved it. No guilt for us. She was safer and happier.
@ianbfarquhar@JetstarAirways Daughter flew down from Darwin just before Christmas. They arrived at 1.30am instead of the advertise 10pm and her beautiful new hard shell suitcase was also damaged.
@SabraLane Sabra if you put a large number of frail elderly people together to lead a communal life this happens. 2022 has been the worst year ever in the aged care home I have managed for 11 years. Nearly every resident caught it, vaccinated or not and some died, despite our best efforts.
@tmsilverman Leftists have an issue with social inequity. Given that social inequity benefits the right wing conservatives who use God’s name to to protect their power and wealth, I think it’s the hypocrisy Leftists have an issue with, not some hypothetical God.
@ChristineMilne If you get the answer please share. I have no idea. I just buy lots of IKEA glass bookshelves. The site of my many books gathered over 50 years safely tucked behind glass on bookshelves gives me great pleasure, as does the site of so many of my father’s books that I saved.
@darrenhayes Then you have never ridden a thoroughbred. I hate to see any horse hurt but I understand that racing is not barbaric. Many humans live tougher lives than these horses.
@SParnis My grandmother took her own life in 1946 leaving her 17yo son, my father to believe she couldn’t have loved him to have left him. My husband’s father took his life at 56 and no one saw it coming. We need so much more research into suicide.
