ITV's Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray while grilling the Energy Security Secretary on the Rwanda Plan made a baseless and malicious remark that “churches are being burnt down by Hindu nationalists right now”.
This claim made on Live TV while discussing the Rwanda plan is false equivalence and clearly reflects anti-India and anti-Hindu bias.
It is misleading and dangerous journalism that creates a negative perception of Hindus and Indians making the British Hindu & Indian community vulnerable to hate and prejudice.
Here are some hard hitting facts about Christians in India -
1. India’s Christian population has increased from 2.24% to 2.36% since 1947.
2. There are a total of 29,536 Churches in India as of April 20, 2024.
3. Catholic Church of India is the second-largest non-agricultural landowner after the government. It is reported to possess 70 million hectares (172.9 million acres) of land throughout the nation.
4. Catholic Church of India ranks among the largest non-government employers in the country.
5. Moreover, the Catholic Church has ventured into agricultural land ownership. For instance, in 2009, they acquired a plantation valued at 1.23 billion rupees in the state Kerala alone.
It is important to highlight that INSIGHT UK’s British Media and Perception Survey and Report showed that 81% of the British Hindu & Indian community respondents felt prejudiced media reports on Hindus and India results in negative perceptions of Indians and 70% of the respondents felt that media reporting of the BHI community has led to them being a victim, or witness, to prejudice.

Done safely and securely, AI has the potential to be transformational and grow the economy.
This evening I met with @sama, @demishassabis and @AnthropicAI's Dario Amodei to discuss how the UK can provide international leadership on AI.
Welcome news that the energy price cap is coming down, reducing energy bills from July by nearly £430 on average per year.
It marks a major milestone in our work to halve inflation.
The NHS is in my blood. My dad was a GP and I grew up working in mum's local pharmacy.
So I understand just how important it is to have an NHS built around patients.
Today I’m taking a leaf out of my parents' book and empowering patients to get the care they need more quickly.
Slow clap for @GBNEWS who are now being mocked by a man who threatens minority groups. @Nigel_Farage you needed more info and more prep before taking on one of Britain's most active Islamists. Pronouncing Kerala correctly would have been a start.
I do not agree fully with @MailOnline I do not believe attacks on Hindu homes to be a 'spin'. I find the portrayal of Modi creating a global Hindu worrying for the safety of Hindus here who face attack as they are held accountable for politics abroad 1/6

Do you agree that censoring "The Kerala" Story a day before its release brings the BBFC into question?
Has the BBFC surrendered to certain people and groups with nefarious agendas?
Is the BBFC silencing the truth from being told on the horrors of grooming of young Hindu and Christian girls by ISIS and its supporters?
@BBFC - why the delay? Why have the shows been cancelled?
Political correctness should never get in the way of keeping women and young girls safe.
That's why I’m leading the most robust action Government has ever taken to crack down on grooming gangs.
We will do whatever it takes to root out this evil once and for all.
I have faced personal, vicious, and targeted attacks due to the anti-India rhetoric and Hinduphobia. I demand that the @lsesu is transparent about its reasoning.
I will not be a SILENT victim of Hinduphobia.

The 5 Councillors who challenged @CityMayorLeic urging him to replace Dr Allen as lead in an independent review into Leicester violence against Hindus, now stand deselected. In light of this shocking development can @UKLabour claim to look after the interests of the BHI community
