URGENT! My cousin, Dhanajayan, was among 16 crew members on the Prestige Falcon ship that capsized off the Oman coast on July 15th. Nine crew members were rescued, but Dhanajayan is still missing.
It’s been over 10 days since the tragedy. His phone rang on Saturday and Sunday, then went dead. We're desperate.

Based on new information just received from our reliable source in the search team in the waters of #Oman, it has been announced that the search operation for the crew of the (( #PrestigeFalcon )) #tanker has been halted and unfortunately, the remaining crew members have not been found so far. We offer our condolences and ask for patience for the families of these dear ones.
Three days ago, out of the 16 crew members of this tanker, 9 were found and are safe, one body was found, and 6 are still missing. Unfortunately.

(Update) Breaking News:

Search and rescue operations have successfully found 10 crew members of the oil tanker Prestige Falcon, 9 found alive. Tragically, one crew member was found deceased. The search and rescue operations continue for the remaining members of the vessel's crew.

Update:

The surviving crew members of the distressed oil tanker "Prestige Falcon" include eight Indian nationals and one Sri Lankan national.

They are in good health and have received the necessary medical care.

Search and rescue efforts are still ongoing to locate the remaining missing crew members.

#IndianNavy's mission deployed warship #INSTeg, rendering SAR assistance for the capsized Oil Tanker MV #PrestigeFalcon, has rescued 09 (08 Indians & 01 Sri Lankan) personnel.
The MV had capsized about 25 NM southeast of Ras Madrakah, #Oman on #15Jul 24 & SAR efforts in coordination with Oman Authorities are in progress since AM 16 Jul 24.

The MV is reported to have had a total of 16 crew, incl 13 Indians & 03 Sri Lankans.

The #SearchAndRescue by Indian & Omani assets is being undertaken in challenging weather conditions as the area is experiencing rough sea & strong winds. #IndiaNavy's Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft P8I is also assisting in search for survivors.

The search and rescue operation by the Indian Navy with the Prestige Falcon is ongoing and is expected to last till 22 July . The Omani authorities have called off the SAR operation. The Indian Navy ship has not found anything except life jackets in the water so far.
