๐จ **Maritime Safety at Risk?** ๐จ
Itโs alarming to see deck and navigating officers with plenty of time to create videos and reels for social media while on duty. This raises serious concerns about their focus on safety and responsibility at sea.
Hey @MPEBIndore No electricity supply for over 8 hours despite an active smart prepaid connection and no dues pending. Complaint already registered on 1912, but no action yet. Request immediate restoration of power and status update. #PowerOutage#Electricity
If a toll plaza can be brought down like this, what does it say about the resilience of our infrastructure? Safety must always come before cost-cutting. #NHAI#Infrastructure#SafetyFirst
The Titanicโs last moments left me speechless. Seeing the scale of the tragedy and imagining what the passengers went through filled me with sadness and compassion. It is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly everything can change.
Eid al-Adha Mubarak from all of us at Synergy, both ashore and at sea. ๐
To everyone celebrating, we wish you a joyful Eid, wherever you are in the world. โจ

May Allah accept your sacrifices, forgive your sins, and bless your family with happiness, peace, and prosperity.

My appeal to PM Modi-
In order to save petrol & diesel, please make it mandatory for bureaucrats, MLAs & MPs to use public buses and metro instead of large convoys.
It will also be a good opportunity for them to experience world-class infrastructure they are building for us.
Exactly. They treat us like spare parts, not people. Iโve seen this firsthandโa crew member in agony with back pain was isolated then sent straight to the airport with zero medical attention. The 'wellbeing' posters in the office are a joke when the reality is this heartless.
Did you know?
@dgshipping_IN
A seafarer diagnosed with stomach cancer onboard MT Mackerel (IMO 9234628) was
โก๏ธ isolated in a shipping container for ~21 hours in unsafe conditions
โก๏ธ disembarked via IraqโDohaโTrivandrum without medical escort or proper documents
โก๏ธ denied company medical coordination
โก๏ธ forced to pay for his own treatment, still under care today
This is a clear violation of MLC health & welfare standards.
Seafarers are not disposable.

@seaandcoast1@dgshipping_IN@sunilgadekarmns@shipmin_india Management companies are so blinded by cost-cutting that theyโve completely forgotten the human element. I saw the same thing: a crewmate with severe back pain was just locked in his cabin and dumped at an airport without a single medical check. Truly shameful
Focus on Mental Health & Abuse
@angloeasterngrp@SynergyGroup06@fleetmanagement@vshipscrew
Train your master wisely.
Power trips at sea cost lives. When a Master denies shore leave for "no reason" or uses it as a punishment, itโs not leadership itโs abuse.
The "Invisible Prison"
Imagine visiting 10 countries in 4 months but never stepping off the ship. โ๏ธ @MaritimeLabour
Between "fast turnarounds," port security, and lack of transport, shore leave is becoming a myth. Seafarer mental health isn't a "soft issue"โit's a safety issue
"Masterโs discretion" was never meant to be an excuse to ignore the MLC or treat crew like prisoners. A ship is a workplace, not a kingdom. Itโs 2026โdictatorship belongs in the history books, not on the bridge. ๐ข๐ซ
The National Green Shipping Coordination Cell is a vital move toward a sustainable future. Great to see the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways taking such a structured approach to the Green Shipping Policy! ๐ฑโ
Powering Indiaโs Green Maritime Transition: National Green Shipping Coordination Cell (NGSCC)
India is setting up a dedicated National Green Shipping Coordination Cell (NGSCC) within the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) to steer and govern the countryโs maritime decarbonisation journey under the National Green Shipping Policy (NGSP).
The NGSCC will act as the single national nerve centre for green shippingโbringing together ministries, regulators, ports, industry, finance, and research institutions to drive coordinated, accountable, and data-driven climate action across the maritime sector.
๐น What will NGSCC do?
* Align shipping, ports, fuels, finance, and environment policies across ministries
* Oversee all seven green pillars of NGSP
* Approve incentives and green investments based on verified performance
* Monitor port and state action plans through NLP-Marine
* Represent India at IMO, BIMSTEC, IORA and global green shipping platforms
๐น Who will be part of it?
NGSCC will bring together DGS, IWAI, IMU, State Maritime Boards, MoEFCC, Finance (DEA/SEBI), MSDE, SDCL, NCoEGPS, NITI Aayog (Observer) and key maritime and industry bodiesโcreating a truly whole-of-government and whole-of-sector platform.
๐น How will it deliver results?
Through the National Green Maritime Implementation Plan (NGMIP) โ a rolling 5-year plan (2025โ2030, 2030โ2035โฆ) with:
* Port-wise and state-wise targets
* Green finance and incentive allocation
* Fuel, technology and OPS milestones
* Skilling and workforce pathways
* Private sector and investor engagement
๐น Why it matters
This institutional backbone will ensure Indiaโs maritime sector stays on track with IMO net-zero ~2050 and Indiaโs net-zero 2070, while unlocking green finance, technology, and global partnerships.
๐ข The NGSCC and its governance framework will be deliberated at Maritime India @ Net Zero 2026, being held on 14โ15 January 2026 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi (Hybrid Mode). This forum will shape how Indiaโs green shipping transition is governed, financed, and implemented.

Love this. Itโs a perfect example of how God closes doors that are too small for the future. God has planned for us. Your story will definitely give hope to someone feeling 'stuck' today.
Keep leading the way!
I failed Engineering Entrance, Failed NDA, Failed in Chief Mates Exams, was released by a Shipping company in 1997 for complaining against Master for poor food.
Still I started a Crewing Company 16 Yrs back, now we employ more than 5000 Seafarers. Don't worry about Rejections. Just that God is preparing you for higher responsibilities.
Absolutely, ensuring reasonable access aligns with IMO MLC amendments effective Dec 2024, mandating internet for seafarers with minimal charges. Starlink's unlimited maritime plans, like those via partners offering no-cap data for ~$250/mo per vessel, can scale this affordably. It enhances mental health and efficiencyโlet's push for industry-wide adoption.
@grok Unfortunately, some decision-makers sitting in offices still believe that there should be no internet onboard ships, a mindset that is outdated and disconnected from todayโs operational and human realities
Hey @grok, any suggestions for improvement? Seafarers are struggling when it comes to welfare
At the very least, welfare facilities should not be treated as a business
Some ship management companies are charging around USD 100/month per seafarer for a basic Starlink internet plan
Crew welfare shouldn't be a profit center. @angloeasterngrp gives 1000 GB free/month for @Starlink internet; @SynergyGroup06 and FML gives just 100 GB per ship. Limiting crew to 5GB before charging them is a massive step backward for mental health at sea. Time to do better.
@grok It is true that better connectivity is not just a welfare issue โ it directly improves crew morale, retention, safety, and overall operational efficiency.
