Mania is the next Disney.
and no -- it's not some AI slop cartoon factory, nor an agent for producing more slop either.
last august, right after we closed @siliconmania pre-seed, something felt off.
i felt like i've been building in a direction that was never really mine.
i never wanted to launch a podcast for founders, or another insider ("new") media. since day one, my whole thesis was always one thing: build a bridge between SF bubble and the real world.
cause everyone deserves to experience the magic of technology, right? ✨
i had to admit: making "the most entertaining tech media ever" wasn't the best bet for that.
so i decided to rethink everything from scratch.
moved to LA. became obsessed with Walt Disney. as he was one of the few who successfully connected ordinary people with the magic of technology.
for him, it was through animation.
for me, its something different.
so i spent the last few weeks alone. thinking. rethinking. rebuilding from the first principles. living inside Disneyland. Universal. Warner Bros. Paramount. playing games. meeting many creative folks.
trying to solve one riddle: what does the next Disney look like?
now, i know.
you can imagine whatever you want. i promise you'll be surprised by what we'll be dropping next.
time to make life magic again.
so f*cking excited.
ps1: the wild part about @rauchg tweet: i was literally inside the Walt Disney Family Museum in SF when he posted it, planning to tell him the same day about this exact pivot. i've never had a sign hit me that hard in my life ✨
ps2: i've some cool announcement next week about @siliconmania (spoiler: its not dead)
